Big house Tatra is located (together with small house) in the High Tatras NP forest, in the altitude of 950 meters. 4 national parks - High, Low, Western Tatras and Slovak Paradise are accessible within 45 min. is located only 20 min. walk from Strba train station and 10 min. from the cog railway stop. It offers 8 rooms with bathrooms - 4 triple rooms and 4 twin rooms, as well as a living room, kitchen and terrace. Parking lot and meadow are common for both houses. We speak English.

The space
The big house has 8 large rooms, 4 of them twin and 4 rooms are triple. All rooms feature a private bathroom with shower. There is a cabinet, wall shelves and wall hanger in each room.

There is a common room with a chimney in the big cottage. It has a space for bikes and skis. A terrace with seating in the summer and a large meadow are accessible from the common room. There is also a fireplace outside the house.

A meadow with fireplace located between our 2 houses, is an attractive place for groups and families with children. Guest room with traditional oven, quiet place in the forest and environment round the house ensure you ideal relax.
The guest room is directly connected with the kitchen, so can be used as well as a dining room. There is also a library with a reading room.

In the basement of the cottage there is a ping-pong table and sauna with a relaxation room. Sauna is only available after agreement with the staff. One stay in the sauna is free for stays of 5+ nights.

There are cross-country-ski loops in winter. In summer, the houses are ideal starting point for trekking/hiking and MTB.

You can observe forest animals in the neighbourhood of the houses, as squirrels, in exceptional case also a bear.

The staff speaking English, German, Spanish and Italian and is at your disposal. Information about conditions, assistance in preparing a tour, recommendations of experienced mountain guide and tourist guide are included in price of accommodation!

10 minutes of walking there is a funicular stop that brings you in few minutes to the skiing and cross-country-skiing centre Štrbské Pleso (1350 m). 20 minutes of walking there is railway station Strba that links Tatranská Štrba with Bratislava. Access to the houses is simple, and parking lot is common for both houses (limited capacity).

Access by car to the cottages is easy (700 m from the main road E50-18 Važec - Tatranská Štrba), we have parking for max. 10 cars.
If we are not present in person, we will advise by phone.
The owners of the accommodation have their rooms in the roof spaces of the cottage, inaccessible to guests.

Pets allowed - small to middle sized - max 2, for a surcharge.

Guest access
Access to nearly all the building less roof space (private) and cellar where technical background, sauna and relaxation room are. Finnish sauna is available for a surcharge. Staying 5+ nights there is 1 entrance to the sauna free. Guests have to notify their intention to go to sauna at least one day in advance.

Other things to note
As we do not have 24-hour reception, the accommodation is possible till 10pm. We would like to ask the guests to contact us at least 1 day before theis arrival to communicate us approx.time of arrival. We also need to know the exact number of guests, in the main season number of cars.

The nearest resort and skiing centre is Štrbské Pleso 1350 m, reachable by cog railway – the stop is only 10 min.walking from the house (pls see the map and see the arrows in the forest). Up-to-date timetable you find in the kitchen (door or on the service window). We can provide you the tickets (1 way = 1 Euro). Just inform us and we will sell you the tickets. The driver only sells you a whole day ticket for 4€. 20 minutes of walking there is railway station Strba that links Tatranská Štrba with Bratislava, Košice and Prague.
