The space
This 2 BR/1 BA house has been newly renovated and has a fully equipped kitchen--stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, Keurig, and more.
There is an air mattress, a large sectional, and extra bedding which, combined with the two Queen beds, will accommodate up to 8 guests (10 guests if utilizing the third bedroom which is only available upon request).
Guest access
Guest will have access to the entire house, deck, front porch, and yard (less garage and storage building). There is also a third bedroom that is not accessible (hosts' bedroom when house is not rented) except when requested for larger groups. There is an additional flat fee of $100 to rent the 3rd bedroom. This covers our time to set and reset the room from personal use to guest-ready.
Other things to note
Beech Creek Cottage is a "No Smoking Property." This means that no smoking is allowed anywhere on the property (inside or outside). If this house rule is violated, you will be charged additional cleaning fees for odor remediation.
We are not listed as appropriate for families with children. While we sometimes make exceptions, we now require a $150 security deposit for families with children under 12. This will cover stained linens, broken items, or extra cleaning, etc. If there are no issues when you check out, we will return the security deposit to you (or the unused portion if there are only minor issues).
If you need help operating equipment, run out of supplies, need a repair on the property, etc, please let us know. Even though your host is not local, there are family members close by who can often resolve issues that may arise quickly.
Please note that we provide 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel and 1 wash cloth per guest for stays of 3 days or less. If you anticipate needing more, please let us know and we will gladly accommodate.
Clifton is a great little town, but be prepared for the fact that you will be out in the "boonies." We are outside city limits so it is truly a remote location! If you want to cook, bring what you need or plan for a 25 to 30-minute trip to the grocery store. There are a couple of convenience markets in town only 15 minutes away that carry a little bit of everything, as well as a Dollar General.
You will be in the country, so expect a peaceful and wonder-filled time in nature. You may see deer, egrets, birds, otters, beavers, or other interesting wildlife on the property. Of course, be aware that you could encounter foxes, coyotes, snakes (including poisonous snakes, like Copperheads), or even in rare instances, a bear or mountain lion. Please be aware of your circumstances if venturing far from the house at night.
While we do not own animals, our neighbors' dogs sometimes visit the property. There are no leash laws since we are outside city limits. If you ignore them or shoo them, they usually go away.
Hunting is allowed in season. Paid guests of the Airbnb are welcome to hunt on the property. You may fish in the creek as well if you wish but we're not sure what you will find! Also, note that hunting takes place in the area regularly so if you hear gunshots, that would most likely be the reason. There is a deer stand on neighboring property on the other side of the creek
