Neighborhood highlights

If you are the adventurous type there are plenty of hiking opportunities.
I would recommend a 20 minute drive to savoy state forest and check out the waterfall. If you go in the back way (shortest road on the map) you can drive and park pretty close to it. Driving the long way in will require a 4x4.
As you turn onto Zoar rd to come here keep an eye to the rocks on your right you may see the opening to one of the small caves. It is usually full of water. But 100 feet or so to the left down the road if you look real good you will find a small hole in the ground. If you dare drop down inside. It is a beautiful cave. Not too big but just enough to brag about. Ps, there is a bat that lives there. So don't wake him. He is harmless.

I recently turned 40 and switched into retirement/ planning for the future mode. I am building a new log cabin and became an ABNB member to offer my future retirement home up to guests to enjoy all it has to offer when I am not using it. They want me to tell you about myself but truly I am an introvert and do not like opening myself up to the world. The things I can't live without? Well, my job, fiance,kids and a sense that I am doing the best that I can and being productive. My favorite travel destination would be The Berkshire, that's why we are building our home there. Books don't interest me, I over analyze every word and it will be more like work than relaxing. I'm more a movie guy. You know, hurry up and get to the point. I have more important things I could be doing. That being said movies that involve superstitions, supernatural, cryptid animals peek my curiosity. I like to delve into things I don't understand or can't explain. Music? There hasn't been any good music since the 80's? Right? Well for me anyway, I grew up a product of the hair band era. Food? Steak and potatoes. I am a hands off kind of host. I will make it as perfect as I can before you arrive. Then it is yours for your time there. Treat it with respect and you are welcome to come back.
