The space
This one level mid-century ranch is located 20 minutes north of Sturgeon Bay, and 15 minutes south of Egg Harbor. Situated up a private and paved driveway, and surrounded by trees you’ll find this gem. The great room, dining room, kitchen are open and have an oversized island with seating for 4 (plus 4 at the dining table). Three bedrooms and a newly renovated bath on one side of the house, plus a bonus room, another renovated bath with double vanity and full laundry are on the other side of the house.
Out back, you’ll find a large patio, dining table, gas bbq, fire ring, outdoor chairs, cafe lights and woods for exploring.
Starlink internet/wifi available throughout the property.
Bunk room has a twin on top and a full-sized bed on the bottom.
All 3 couches in the house fold flat for sleeping, and are about the size of a full-sized bed.
Kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, complimentary Door County Coffee, coffee maker, electric griddle, crockpot, and fully stocked with cooking and dining needs.
Guest access
The whole house, garage, washer/dryer, and 1.5 acre yard are available for your use. 1 stall is available in the garage for parking a car or compact SUV.
Other things to note
Location
This house is on the inland side of Bay Shore Drive in Egg Harbor Township, between Sturgeon Bay and Egg Harbor. Bay Shore Drive follows the coastline and the houses on the other side of the street are on the bay. Bay Shore Drive is scenic and attracts bikers, motorcyclists and those who love to go for a drive.
Bay Shore Drive is home to the Peninsula Century Spring Classic on 6/12/2025, Door County Triathlon on 7/12-13/2025, and the Door County Fall 50 on 10/25/2025, so it's a great place to stay if your cheering crew is attending the race with you as they can sit right at the end of the driveway.
Note that Airbnb shows this as a 1-minute walk to the water, however you cannot walk through the private property on the other side of the street, you do need to drive to a beach...
Beaches
The nearest beach is Murphy County Park, which is a 6 min drive up Bay Shore Drive 3.7 miles. It has a great beach and a huge concrete dock to jump off (see photos). My kids like this beach the best. It's located on the bay side of the peninsula (the west side), parking is right by the beach and free.
My favorite beach, where on a hot day I feel like I'm in Mexico, is Whitefish Dunes Beach in Whitefish Dunes State Park. The beach is epic. It's a 20 min drive (13 miles) and is on the east side of the peninsula and is on the beach map in the photos. There are no docks to jump off, but the beach is big and really long. The parking there is a bit of a walk from the beach, and you do need a state park pass or a day use sticker. You can also go on some great easy flat hikes here, there's kayaking, and cliff jumping too.
Further north, Fish Creek (which is THE cutest Hallmark town) has Peninsula State Park (a 24 min drive) with a number of beaches (state park sticker needed) and Sister Bay (35 min north) has a small beach right in town which is popular with little kids. But as you can see from the map in my photos, there are a ton of beaches!
Pets
Pets require a $100 fee and a pet waiver. Pets must always be supervised, crated, or on a tie out in the yard. Please bring your own crate/tie out and dog supplies.
TVs
The 3 TVs and the projector all are equipped with Roku. You will need to log into your own streaming services to access content.
Sleeping arrangements
The house is listed to sleep 10, as it can sleep 10 and you're welcome to. However, 10 guests would mean at least 1 person is sleeping on a fold down sofa, and 2 people in some of the full-sized beds.
The sofas in the living room and bonus room are fold down faux-leather sofas, they are not hide-a-beds with mattresses. I'd recommend them for kids or adults that don't require a luxury mattress.
Accessibility
This is a one level home but there are 4 exterior steps to enter from the front, and inside the home there are 2 steps to go down to the area with the bonus room and the bathroom that has the washer/dryer. There are also 2 steps from the garage to the house.
Parking
There is a long single-lane paved driveway with 2 paved spots off to the side, plus space for 4 cars in front of the garage.
Environment
This is a house in the woods, and thus it is surrounded by nature and all that entails, including the lovely parts of nature like chirping birds and baby deer, but also things like mice, ants, raccoons, and snakes. I employ professional pest control and mitigation for the house, however I cannot guarantee you will not see insects or other pests, but please keep me informed if you see anything concerning.
