Barn1686 is located in the quiet village of Borgonovo, surrounded by stunning mountains. Originally built in 1686, the barn was fully renovated in 2015 and offers 90 m² of modern amenities: electric heating, a modern kitchen, two open bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a cozy fireplace. Need more space? Right next door is the second half of the semi-detached house – Ciäsa7406! Perfect for families or friends traveling together who still value their privacy.

At 1027 meters above sea level lies the quiet village of Borgonovo, where Alberto Giacometti was born in 1901. The row of ancient 17th and 18th century houses along the main road are interrupted by small gardens and traditional barns. From the old stone bridge, you have a beautiful view of the church of San Giorgio.

It is only a 15min walk to Vicosoprano where the nearest grocery store (Prima) is located. The villages of St. Moritz, Silvaplana, Sils and Maloja can all be reached in 15-30 minutes by car. You can also visit the idyllic villages of Soligo and Castasegna in under 10 minutes by car. Chiavenna (IT) is 20 min car-drive away and the beautiful Lake Como can be reached in 45 minutes.

The barn offers the following amenities:

Living room:
Spacious living and dining room with a large sofa and cozy fireplace. The windows by the living room offer a fantastic view of the mountains. A JBL bluetooth speaker, board game classics, good wifi connection and an OLED TV (incl. Netflix) ensure a great time even on (rare) overcast days. A yoga matt for your sports session is also available.

Kitchen:
The modern kitchen is equipped with a small fridge, induction stove, an oven and dishwasher. The dining table can accommodate 4-6 people. All essential cooking utensils, dishes, cutlery, glasses, and coffee machine (Nespresso) are available. Of course you will also find a Fondue- and Raclette set in the barn.

Bedrooms:
The master bedroom in the attic with double bed (170x200cm) is equipped with high quality mattresses and two pillows each. The room cannot be completely darkened.

Bedroom 2:
The second bedroom is located in the basement and offers a double bed (160x200cm) with comfortable mattresses and two pillows each. The room can be darkened quite well.

Bathroom:
The barn offers a large bathroom in the basement with a sink and shower. The second (smaller) bathroom is located in the attic, and is equipped with a shower and sink. Fresh towels are available. The hairdryer is located under the sink of each bathroom. There is also a curling iron available in the bathroom downstairs.

Garden:
Our garden, featuring a dining table and comfortable lounge chairs, offers a wonderful view of the mountains and is available for shared use with the other half of the house! An outdoor kitchen with a BBQ grill, pizza oven, and Green Egg is also provided.

Sauna:
Our compact sauna in the basement is for your exclusive use. The sauna is a real treat, not only on cold winter days.

Places like Chiavenna (IT), Maloja, Castasegna, Solgio, Sils, Silvaplana, St. Moritz and Pontresina are best reached by car.

Free parking is available at the beginning or end of the village in Borgonovo. Please note that these parking spaces are public and cannot be reserved.

At Via Barnöv 24 there is a small self-service farm store. There you can get specialties such as eggs, meat, pasta, tea and much more.

SOCAR gas station, Stampa: within a 5-minute walk, you'll find a selection of drinks, snacks, dairy products, drugstore & cleaning products, alcohol & cigarettes.

Fire wood for the fireplace and charcoal for the BBQ can be bought at the Do-It Mercato in Vicosoprano, at the gas station City Carburoil near the border in Castasegna or at Prima in Silvaplana.

The barn is a semi-detached house. There is a possiblilty that the other half is also rented during your stay.
