The space
Sunset House is a three-bedroom 1.5 bath newly remodeled house on Bar Lake. This charming home features an open floor plan with living, dining, and kitchen overlooking scenic Bar Lake. The home is decorated in the modern farmhouse style with bright rooms with natural light and wood paneling in two bedrooms.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire home, a large new deck, and a private dock. Enjoy complimentary kayaks and stand-up paddleboards on Bar Lake. The home comes equipped with everything you need to cook and entertain. Also included are a washer and dryer. Please bring your own laundry detergent.

Please do not bring reactive or aggressive dogs of any kind. You can expect our dog, Tucker, to come onto the property. We also have neighborhood children.

We live next door and can accommodate additional guests at our other location, a 110-year-old log cabin between Sunset House and Lake Michigan. Contact us for information on discounts for renting both at the same time.

We are within a mile of the Audobon Society and state park hiking. Just a short drive to Manistee with three of the best sandy beaches on Lake Michigan, even with high water! Manistee is an up and coming resort community with shopping, a live theater, libraries, three grocery stores, a historic movie theater, a brewery, and lots of great restaurants.

The Manistee area is a thrilling outdoor playground all year round. The area offers 11 locations offering golf within a 30-mile radius, including the world-class Arcada Bluffs and Crystal Mountain courses. The Manistee National Forest has fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, off-roading, kayaking, and much more in over 500,000 ac of wilderness. This is all in addition to the swimming, boating, and fishing on Lake Michigan.
