Two trail-connected, four-season sister-cabins quietly nestled below a granite outcrop among towering old pines on the semi-private, fifteen acre, Dube Lake. Hike, bike, snowshoe or ski the private two kilometers of trails, swim and sunbathe from your two floating docks or wade at a nearby sandy shore, enjoy a starlit campfire, chill bug-free on the screened-in porches listening to the sounds of Bardo's surrounding ten acres of mixed old growth forest, or venture beyond to nearby amenities.

The space
The nearly identical cabins are each a rustic and cozy five hundred square feet, with two bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a living room/kitchen common area. The living rooms are equipped with smart TVs with streaming apps, Starlink high-speed internet, wifi, and woodstoves. The kitchens are well-appointed with electric stoves/ovens and four-seat dining tables. The attached screened in porches have tables and chairs, and four burner gas grills.

There is a flight of stairs down from the parking area, and more stairs back up to the cabins. A hundred foot trail links the two cabins, but in summer there is some privacy provided between them by the forest foliage. The cabins each have their own dock with excellent, weed-free, deep water swimming. There is only four dwellings on Lake Dube; two of them make up Bardo Cabins, the others are rarely occupied. There is no motors on the lake. It's a very, very, peaceful spot. Across the street there is a public swimming area with a shallow, sandy shoreline perfect for youngsters.

There are more than two kilometers of well-marked trails throughout the property, ideal for hiking and mountain biking spring to fall, and nordic skiing and snowshoeing in the winter (snowshoes provided). We don't permit motorized vehicles on the property beyond the parking area, but there’s a long network of top shelf atv/snowmobile/biking trails very close by (Seguin Recreation Trail). For the paddlers we have two canoes, a tandem kayak, two youth kayaks, and two inflatable SUPs, plus everything you need to use them safely. Access to a network of paddling and portaging is right across the street on Lake Manitouwaba.

All roads to Bardo Cabins are paved and plowed in the winter. Our parking area and the steps to the cabins are also regularly cleared of snow and salted.

The cabin’s water is from the lake and is naturally tea-stained. It’s great for washing, etc. but a reverse-osmosis-filtered drinking water tap can be found on the kitchen sink. We drink the water and test it regularly, but we can't guarantee it for you. If you'd prefer, bring along your own drinking water.

Each cabin has a firepit, and a woodstove. We provide the firewood, which we process ourselves for your use, at our pleasure. However, please be mindful of your firewood consumption. It's laborious to provide and you'll want to leave some for future guests. Before you burn, take note of the township's current fire rating (seguin dot ca). Also: the wood piled by the lake is for outdoor fires. The wood piled on decks or in wood sheds is for indoor fires. Never the twain shall meet.

Guest access
You'll have the run of the place. There is a similar, third cabin to the east of Pine Cabin that is not ours. Please be respectful of your neighbours (if there are any).

You might run into some neighbours on the private trails. Likely not.
