Historic 1898 home with indoor & outdoor areas with views of the park and river. Nature abounds in all seasons: hawks, vultures, bald eagles & migrating birds, muskrats, beavers, geese and ducks. Watch the sunset at one of two firepits. Cross country ski in the park. Adventure on a hike or a canoe trip and witness deer on trails. 13 miles of bike trail. Bring your bikes for the trail and kayaks and canoes for the beach launch right outside your door!

The space
Your space is the entire first floor of this 2 unit house, with private entrance at the Front door. Your flat is 1300 square feet with two bedrooms and one bath. One bedroom has a queen bed. The other bedroom has 2 Twin beds. Living room has a full size sleeper sofa. It also has a daybed/trundle. Full size, fully kitchen and dining room. There is a sunporch that leads out to a large deck with views of the park and river. Large yard with 2 firepits, propane and charcoal grills and comfortable lawn furniture.

Guest access
Private First floor, front yard and porch, backyard and laundry room. Laundry room is through the kitchen door, down the stairs and to your left. If you use the soap, please leave a small donation.

Other things to note
While close to downtown Kankakee, this is a country-like place.

This is the most magical location. We love sharing it with those who appreciate nature and a historic downtown arts community. Nearby restaurants serve delicious, home style and ethnic offerings. A few blocks along the river trail is On the Rox bar. Enjoy a cocktail with expansive river views and live music. I want everyone to be happy. I do my best to have things comfortable and special for an enjoyable time in this beautiful location.
