Atalantar has what you're looking for when you book an apartment: windows overlooking the Tietar Valley, a hot tub, and it's just a three-minute walk to downtown Villanueva de la Vera. All that is there. But there is also a magic phone to make wishes to the universe, a piece of furniture with twelve doors of which only one is for you, and a word in partocho that when you know what it means you will not want to forget. Atalantar is what you need so much.
The space
DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY IT IS CALLED ATALANTAR?
Everything in this life has a history behind it, if you don't have 5 minutes to read it, you need Atalantar.
The first time I passed through the Apartamento Atalantar gate, there were times of pandemic and a few meters from our house, I was Atalantar in its most retro version (an old dryer) and very close to a large olive grove where Emma (my daughter) Rayo (my dog) and I, we were going for a walk and shake the sadness of isolation and the fear of the future.
It was undoubtedly the best time of the day, the spring sun hiding in the sunset behind the houses of our village was a spectacle that we did not miss any day, so it was almost inevitable to go anchor the relief to our evils to that space, that place.
In the beauty, the huge open space and the clean air of that place, our family could “Atalantar” every day
Atalantar, it's a beautiful word I've only heard in Vera, I don't know if it's used elsewhere, so for me, it's like some hidden treasure here that no pirate has yet stolen.
It's the word I heard from my great-grandmother, my grandparents, my parents and everyone I know and grew up with, from here, my village, Villanueva de la Vera.
There are days when you feel that not Atalantas, and it can be for many reasons, because not atalantar is to be restless, the guts or your head remind you all the time that "something is not good" "" not atalantao "It may be the most obvious, a moment of stress killer or live an apparent quiet life in which" no atalantas "and you do not know why.
Atalantar is a state of peace.
Some people here also use it in their more “domestic” version. Having everything attire at home, is to leave everything prepared, ready and placed.
Or a situation: something that is fixed, something that is resolved.
Then there is the mother chunga that if she sees that by yourself no "atalantas" decides that a good tortazo is a great "atalantar" way, so let you know.
“Boy, o atalantas o te atalanto yo de un guantazo!!”
Anyway, it's the ideal state you're looking for and what you need so much.
I think that in beautiful things they give you something that makes you stand up.
Nature is a huge example of this, in the natural way most we find everything necessary to beat.
I firmly believe that the space where we live, where we spend most of the day where we can be “ we 100%” must be as beautiful and harmonious as possible in order to be atalanta.
Since we decide that's around us, it's usually an extension of what we have inside.
But sometimes it works the other way around. Outside beauty permeates us to repair some of the inner ugliness.
When I decided to buy Atalantar, he was an ugly duckling but had the huge potential to become a swan.
He continues to dream of being even more beautiful, and it will be, because he has proposed it to him, because from the beginning he had his own soul…
I found myself to materialize as I wanted to look and whispered every day in the pandemic.
I didn't want to become an apartment to rent, I wanted to become an apartment to store, and that's where I put my whole soul.
I want that in the Atalantar apartment you find in its beauty and the beauty of everything that surrounds this wonderful region, everything you need to be able to leave much more Atalantao than you came.
Propose to breathe a little more slowly and be attentive to details.
Atalanta, you need it.

Other things to note
WHAT MAKES ATALANTAR SPECIAL?
In Atalantar I have tried to leave small nods of things that for me are unique to my land and that represent us, that make us feel at home.
The ropes that cascade down the wall that has the most presence are 'biscales', the ropes where in almost all the dryers of the Comarca de la Vera hang the tobacco that is collected in the summer season, less and less, little by little, replaced by other crops.
All of us here have in our retinas huge bunches of 'biscales' hanging in old dryers where thousands of beams of light seep through the holes that turn the space into a spectacle for the eyes.
The burlap curtains on the bedroom wall facing the bathroom are the sacks worn by the fearsome calabaceros (pumpkin-carved figures) at the Peropalo festival on Shrove Tuesday.
The most representative festival of Villanueva and the one we look forward to every year. A month before, we are already "barruntando"
Come and I'll tell you what it's like to "barruntar".
The kitchen and bathroom tiles are old hydraulic tiles salvaged from old houses. The floor that we all had in our grandmothers' houses before committing the terrible sacrilege of changing it for wood flooring.
The walls have the old plaster of the walls and the polished cement floor was the option to the hydraulic tiles in all the Veratas houses.
The door to the bathroom and the exit to the patio is a door from Uncle Lillo's house and the one from Aunt Juan's house, the one with the little belly.
The coffee grinder, lantern, and cocoa cans from my grandmother's kitchen. They are also part of my heritage of Verat moments.
You will always find in the kitchen, flavors of the earth, paprika, jams or Verato cheese or seasonal fruits and vegetables, many of us have an orchard here. I'll try to find out what works best for you, you won't always find the same thing.
The rest are other parts of me, of my recent past, of my present, there is a bit of everything, furniture and memories of my life in Madrid, where I have spent a large part of my life, where other things, other people, moments and places made me happy or unhappy at times and where everything finally conspired for me to return to this place.
Atalantar is alive, so there will always be pieces of my life there, movies or books that have made me atalantar at some point and that I trust it can also do with you.

Can you imagine that being 300 meters from the center is already being on the outskirts? ;)
Well, that's what happens with the Atalantar apartment, in 3 minutes you're in the center but you're almost in the countryside. You hear roosters crowing in the mornings, church bells in the distance, and millions of swallows chirping in summer.
