This home is in a scenic location.
A perfect location for enjoying Princess Margaret Beach - one of the World's best beaches. Wonderful views of the beach and the majestic yachts at anchor - and of the sometimes magical sunsets.

Immediately above Jack's Bar. If you're fit, it is possible to walk over to Lower Bay and around the scenic cliff-side trail into the Harbour. Vehicle hire not necessary.

The space
Offers a fully equipped kitchen for holiday use, including picnic ware, and a built-in BBQ outside of the kitchen door.

Choice of dining table - eat in kitchen or on the balcony with a stunning view.

Guests have access to both bedrooms and shower rooms (his and hers?), but for the one bedroom rate we only make up one of the rooms. Can choose between queen size bed or twin beds, together as king, or apart.

If use of two bedrooms are required, please book A Shade of Blues Apartment - 2 Bedrooms.

Beach towels are supplied.

This Apartment is available for bookings of 14 nights or less.

The pool is shared with other residents of the villa - maximum occupancy is 8 persons, but as A Shade of Blues is so close to the most beautiful swimming waters at Princess Margaret, it is not extensively used by guests or the owners except to cool off.

As well as a comfortable balcony with a magical view of the beach, yachts and ocean to eat and relax, there is also a small patio with circular lounge chair outside for Apartment guests - to gaze at the night sky perhaps?

There are 3 independent living quarters at A Shade of Blues. The Apartment is on the top level. Owners are in residence in the middle level during the winter. The lower accommodation, ANightAshore, is available to rent elsewhere on this web site.

Guests are requested to use the steps for access as the driveway is very steep and can be slippery. Your fitness levels will improve during your stay. There are plenty steps!

There is plenty space to hang washables out to dry. Washing machine facilities are available for a small tip when the housekeeper is working (every 3/4 days).

Other things to note
We are on a hill. The result is a stunning view, but it also means we have plenty steps.

But not suitable for those that do not wish to improve their fitness levels.

Guests with vehicles are prohibited from using the driveway. There is a private car park on the lower level of the property.

This is a wonderful location to take some boating trips. Friendship Rose cruises to Mustique and Tobago Cays are especially popular, so may want to check them in advance. Check online for Bequia This Week and Bequia What's On.

A water taxi is a magical way to travel into Port Elizabeth or around the harbour.

Bequia has a large choice of restaurants, all within a short distance. Jack's Bar is immediately below the villa. Taxi fares are not expensive for night time outings.

Please do not book our accommodation if you are dependent on 24/7 Internet access. Bequia is a small island and our Internet provider is not always online 24/7! Neither is Vinlec, our electricity service provider, both of which cause disruptions to WiFi availability. We would rather guests book to enjoy our beautiful island environment and Princess Margaret location.

This is a self-catering unit. We provide starter quantities of essential toiletries, but when gone, guests are expected to buy their own.

A housekeeping change of linens and towels will be arranged every 7 days. If you are in need of clean towels between housekeeping visits, kindly request these from the housekeeper.

Young at heart retired professional who loves living in the Caribbean. Am fortunate to own, with my husband, a property very close to one of the world's most beautiful beaches, Princess Margaret, Bequia. I also love Cornwall, the UK county of my childhood. My husband took me away after marriage - to the USA, Florida mostly. Returning to UK, we split our lives between UK and Bequia. We both love to swim and snorkel, so we just had to build our Caribbean home next to this beach. Being able to walk to and from the beach without the inconvenience of getting into a vehicle is such a joy. As we have both traveled all over the world in our careers, we enjoy meeting the many and varied international visitors to Bequia. A fun, friendly, island that attracts many of the world's spectacular yachts, and the rich, famous, hard working, or bohemian traveler...everyone seems to love this island. Rum and music help with the fun! Each rental unit in the villa has it's own access. Guests are welcome to enjoy the facilities of the property without interference from owners - who are sometimes not in residence and employ lovely staff to take care of them.
