The Artist’s Perch - a private 2nd floor walk-up on dead-end overlooking a wooded ravine features modern, updated decor in a beautiful old house. Hardwood floors, screened porch, entry/workspace, kitchen/dinette, living room, bathroom w/clawfoot tub/shower, and bedroom with a cozy loft.

Close to downtown, library, nature center & recreational trail system. Situated 8.5 mi E of Appleton, 30 mi NE of Oshkosh, 30 mi SW of Green Bay (only 20 mi to Lambeau Field!), and 60 mi NW of Sheboygan/Kohler.

The space
The apartment is a second-level walk-up with a separate entrance/screened porch via an outside stairway. There is one bedroom with new queen-size bed, and a loft with skylight. A steep, built-in ships ladder is used to access the loft, which is furnished with two chairs & end table; it's a great space to relax with a book. In the library/workspace, there is a desk & chair, Bluetooth turntable & LPs, chairs, and plenty of space to store luggage out of the way. The kitchen/dinette & bathroom are stocked with essentials. The living room has a TV with ROKU, antenna, DVD player, and a small selection of DVDs and LPs for your entertainment.

Please note that in addition to the stairway to access the apartment, there are stairs/steps in a few locations within the apartment: a step down into the entry/workspace and to reach the bathroom from the living room, and a steep ladder to access the loft. The antique claw-foot tub/shower has tall sides and requires a step-up entry/step-down exit.

Guest access
All rooms in the apartment are accessible except for two locked closets.

Other things to note
The property is ideally located for a quick and easy drive to many other destinations in NE Wisconsin, including Appleton, Green Bay (Lambeau Field, Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame), Oshkosh (EAA AirVenture, EAA Aviation Museum), and Sheboygan/Kohler (John Michael Kohler Arts Center & The Preserve, Whistling Straits Golf Course, Kohler Design Center).

These are the house rules/guidelines/expectations to abide by during your stay.

Age Limit: The safety concerns of the stairs and loft/ladder are primarily the reason that we prefer not to host children younger than 12.

Check-in: 2:00-10:00 pm. Though we offer self-check-in for your convenience, we appreciate knowing when you plan to arrive!

Check-out: 12:00 pm (noon). You are welcome to ask for an extension at time of booking.

Parking: There is one (1) off-street parking space available adjacent to the driveway. Free on-street parking is available from April-November.

Guest Courtesy: Hosting parties in the home with guests beyond those booked in the reservation is prohibited. Only registered guests are allowed to make use of the entire night's stay. Please be sure your booking reflects the correct number of guests. We reserve the right to recoup expenses if unregistered guests are discovered to make use of listing.

Noise: This apartment is part of a two-unit building, and we ask that all guests be responsible and courteous to other residents and neighbors regarding sound and volume. Quiet hours are observed from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am.

Pets: Pets may be considered; please check with us first.

ALLERGY NOTE: Currently, there is one well-behaved dog living with the host in the downstairs unit of the house. There were cats in residence for many years, and there is a common forced-air HVAC system.

Smoking Policy: No smoking, vaping, e-cigarettes, or drug use of any kind. If you smoke, please feel free to do so outside on the front sidewalk or driveway outside (not in the porch). Please do not litter.

Interaction With Hosts: We are usually around and enjoy meeting our guests whenever possible but can be as available or invisible as you wish! Please let us know if you have any questions, need any recommendations, or help with anything.
