Sleep near the ancient ruins of Uruk! Our traditional Iraqi farmhouse offers a comfy base for exploring the remains of the ancient Mesopotamia. We are a young regenerative farm devoted to inspire all Iraqi people to regenerate our once so lushes land. A locally prepared breakfast is included. Transportation and cultural experiences are optional.

The space
The house itself is modest, but clean ( 250ftsq/75m2). The house is situated at the main entrance of the 20-acre farm. There are 2 bedrooms, a living room (it can be used as a bedroom if needed) and a small kitchen.
The bathroom and shower are right outside the front door of the house.

The main guest area is the house. However, there are Bedouin tents available upon request if you prefer to spend the night under the stars with a cozy campfire.

Guest access
Guests can be expected to be accompanied by a farm staff member when venturing outside the house. A farm hand is always on site to provide for any reasonable needs. We look forward to show you around the farm.

Our farm managers and farm staff are happy to answer your questions and assist you where they can.

Other things to note
In 2020 we started the project and we have been working the rock hard soil ever since. We have reached the point where we can see the contours of what are farm can be when fully regenerated. Now is the time to start welcoming visitors and proudly show what we have reached so far. We hope to meet you!

The house is set near the main entrance of the Al-Khidr Organic and Regenerative Farm (AROF), a 20-acre charity pilot farm, just off the main road located north of the village of Al-Khidr, and about 20km south of Samawah. Situated about 15-20min drive to Uruk, and about 60min drive to Ur. The region's famous marshes (Chibayish) is about 90min south.
The holy shrine in Najaf is about 2 hours north, Karbala about 3 hours north.
The farm is situated just beyond the eastern borders of the Arabian Desert - an expanse known as the "badia".
Baghdad is about a 3 hours drive.
