🪻Off-Grid Eco Hut in a meadow🪻

Welcome to peaceful Bilberry Boreen eco campsite, set on a former farm now being rewilded into a haven for nature and wildlife. This is the perfect place to slow down, reconnect with the outdoors, and enjoy a simple, sustainable way of living.

30-40 minutes drive away from towns like Macroom, Bantry, Glengarriff, Clonakilty and Skibbereen. 1 hour to Killarney.

(I have two other huts like this here - check my other listings. Camping also available.)

The space
🏡 Your Hut 🏡

Each cosy hut is off-grid and designed with simplicity in mind:

Comfortable double bed (bedding provided).

Small desk and chairs for reading, writing or just enjoying the view.

Fairy lights powered by battery for a gentle evening glow.

Cold potable water sink for washing and drinking.

Your own private compost toilet just outside the hut.

Please note: there is no electricity inside the hut. Guests who love rustic charm, starry nights, and a digital detox will feel right at home here. But there is electricity down in the communal areas.

🍳 Shared Amenities (by the car park)

For extra comfort during your stay, you’ll also have access to our communal spaces:

Fully stocked kitchen (hobs, mini oven, fridge, plates, cutlery, herbs, spices, oils, tea/coffee etc) with electric sockets for cooking and device charging.

Relaxing lounge with sofas, a small library, games, and table football.

Picnic area with tables, BBQ, BBQ pizza oven for private use or when numbers allow, Lizzie makes Italian style pizzas using local buffalo mozzarella in the large wood fired pizza oven, and outdoor kitchen with a sink (cold water).

Warm showers in a discreet cubicle with plenty of space to get dried and changed.

🌱 Who This Stay Suits:

Our huts are best for guests who value:

A connection with nature and a slower pace of life.

Eco-conscious, off-grid living with a few rustic quirks.

Simple comforts rather than hotel-style luxury.

If you’re looking for a unique rural retreat where birdsong replaces WiFi and evenings are lit by fairy lights, you’ll love it here.

Guest access
🚶‍♂️ Access

The huts are tucked away a short stroll from the car park (less than 100m), making them quiet and surrounded by nature. There is a key lock box for access to the hut. There is a wheelbarrow for your luggage. Bring suitable shoes for walking on grass paths.
Bring a torch as there is only limited lighting around the campsite.

Guests can do a farm walk but there are some private signs where access is restricted, feel free to ask. I have two friendly pigs so be careful of the electric fence 🐖😊

Other things to note
At certain times of the year there can be midges (early summer) and horseflies (mid summer. This is a campsite right in the middle of nature so there can be a lot of wildlife, but mostly the lovely kind 😊🦋🐞🐝🐛🪲🦗🐜🐌
I provide humane spider catchers in the huts in case you find any unwanted roommates 🕷️🕸️😊
