Tucked away in the woods on a historic Eastern Shore farm lies this stunning Airstream retreat 10 mins from Cape Charles. The 1969 Airstream has been converted into a contemporary studio with all the comforts of a luxury hotel room. Wake up to the birds singing in the trees that completely surround the huge front deck. Take a walk on our trails. Enjoy watching the animals. Take a trip into Cape Charles for restaurants and shopping, then enjoy a movie in the Airstream at night.

The space
The airstream is on a 16 acre working organic small farm complete with Goats, Chickens, Pigs and horticulture. The Airstream is hidden from the farm by woods and while at the airstream you have privacy amongst the trees. Guests are encouraged to roam the maze of beautiful trials through the grounds. Pick your own blackberries or wildflowers and enjoy feeding the goats. The farm is completely enclosed by woods, it's dreamy. There's a huge grass paddock for games like frisbee and croquet (accessible to guests) and two small ponds where birds, deer and turtles often gather.

The Airstream was completely retrofitted in 2021 with a "shell off" ground up design. It has been turned from an RV into a permanent home with full size toilet, shower, constant hot water and air conditioning. The large L shaped sofa is a reader's dream come true with beautiful tree views from every window and the desk is perfect for remote working. The spacious deck is set up for dining or reclining in the oversized Adirondack chairs and the sound of the woods is simply stunning. Guests will often see deer walking close by and will definitely see our free range chickens and friendly goats roaming the property. You will love how relaxing and peaceful the woods are.

We are only 45 mins from Virginia Beach / Norfolk and just 10 mins South of Cape Charles but you will feel like you have taken a time machine to a much simpler era. The farm is in the heart of some of the best fishing grounds in America the barrier islands and Kiptopeke State Park are right around the corner.

While the Airstream can technically accommodate 4 people, we request 2 adults and 2 children. The couch has a pull out section that turns it into a full bed.

In order to maintain a peaceful surrounding, large groups, parties and additional visitors are not permitted. And to maintain safety of all our animals your pets must be leashed outside. Any damages to property or livestock will need to be reimbursed.

Guest access
Guests have a private drive through the woods to the clearing where the airstream is located. You can park close to the airstream or choose to leave your vehicle near the farm house and walk through the woods on a trail to the airstream. There is a gas station with a famous Eastern Shore restaurant instiution called "Sting Rays" just 5 mins away or there's a Food Lion grocery store 8 mins away.

Other things to note
Our farm is on one of the oldest colonial settlements in the nation, the site of the original Arlington Plantation. This special site is one of the most historic properties in the U.S. yet its significance is little known. For many centuries this area was inhabited by native American Indians, until occupation by English settlers. Three miles north of us, Sir Thomas Dale established the first permanent settlement of English colonists on the Eastern Shore in 1617 known as Dale’s Gift. Here, half a century later, a plantation was founded by John Custis II whose prosperity was demonstrated by the construction of the most magnificent mansion on the whole of the Chesapeake Bay. The mansion is long gone but the site where it stood is a short walk from the farm and the Airstream is situated close to the brick kilns used in the construction. You can still find fragments of some of the oldest bricks in America. National recognition of the Custis name began when, in 1759, the widow of John Custis IV’s son Daniel, Martha Dandridge Custis and the heir to Arlington Plantation, married army Colonel George Washington. When George and Martha moved to what is now our nation's capitol, they named their residence after her family farm and today Arlington national cemetery still carries the name.

Hi this is Naomi and I live on the beautiful Eastern Shore with my husband David. We have 4 separate Airbnb properties on the Shore. If you’re staying at Arlington Farm in either the Cabin or Airstream then my parents Paul and Narelle and Buddy the Dog will be your friendly hosts. If you’re staying at Eden House then you might run into me from time to time tending to the garden. We love Cape Charles and know you will too!
