Take a break and unwind at this peaceful off-grid oasis. Experience the countryside in our cozy A-frame, nestled between meadow and woods in Rothbury, MI. Raise the side of the handcrafted A-frame to immerse yourself in nature and enjoy the sights and sounds from your comfortable queen bed.
Drink your coffee on the deck, enjoy the breeze as you rest in the hammocks, and listen to the birds sing... With solar lighting, a fire pit, and no Wi-Fi, it’s perfect to unplug and reconnect with nature.
The space
Welcome to Meadows Edge Glamping!
You'll enjoy a private off-grid A-frame cabin to yourself... it includes a comfortable queen-sized bed, a table and chairs to enjoy the view in any weather, and a propane heater to stay warm if you visit during the cooler months. The A-frame is about 400-feet from our house and from our other glampsite (the Dome).
We do live on the property and are available if you need anything, however we greatly value your privacy and we will not intrude on your stay. We do live on a homestead with animals, so you may occasionally hear our pigs, chickens, or dogs, but your glampsite is on the other side of our property from the animals and is normally very quiet. We do our best to keep the A-frame clean and comfortable, and of course like any outdoor/camping experience there are bugs and wildlife around and you also may see some things like deer, turkeys, etc.
The 100% cotton bedding is washed in fragrance-free detergent and whenever possible, line dried in the sunshine.
Indoor amenities include:
• solar/rechargeable lights (no electricity)
• drinking water
• games
• electric bug swatter
• sleep masks
• a "forgot something" kit that offers items to make your stay more comfortable
• folding chairs and a small table to enjoy indoors or on the deck
• a tote of "kitchen" items
Outdoors you'll have:
• your own composting toilet in a privacy tent
• a fire pit and comfortable Adirondack chairs (we supply wood for your fire)
• water for drinking/cooking/cleaning/hand washing
• a gas grill
• and two double hammocks
Guest access
When you book we'll send a map to show you what our property looks like. You're free to walk around! We do ask that you respect our family's personal space and be mindful of guests who may be staying in our Dome across the meadow.
There is a very rustic path through the woods you're welcome to walk... take note that our pigs are fenced in with electric wire, so be careful not to touch, and also watch your step as it is a rustic trail. When possible we try to leave buckets with apples, pears, or nuts for the pigs and you're welcome to feed them.
We live just off of a fairly quiet country road... it offers a nice scenic place to walk or go for a run.
