Other things to note
*Unique experiences to highlight*
#1 Sulphur cave:
A few minutes' swim from the building's access to the sea, you can explore a suggestive sulfur cave, ideal for a regenerating and beneficial swim. This cave is part of the set of sulfur springs used by the thermal baths of Santa Cesarea, a little further ahead of the house.
#2 Nearby beaches:
In addition to the access to the rocks near the house and the nearby private beaches (e.g. "il Caicco" and "Bagno Marino Archi"), Porto Miggiano beach is only a 5-minute drive towards Castro, while the enchanting sandy stretches of Otranto on the coast north of the town can be reached in about 25 minutes.
#3 Castro:
A few kilometers from Santa Cesarea Terme, Castro is one of the pearls of the Salento Adriatic coast. This charming village is divided between the port, with its crystal clear waters ideal for a day at the beach, and the upper city, rich in history and breathtaking views. Don't miss a visit to the Zinzulusa Cave, one of the most famous sea caves in Italy, and a walk along the ancient walls of the historic center. In Castro you will also find excellent seafood restaurants, perfect for enjoying Salento cuisine based on the freshest products.
#4 Otranto:
About 20 km from Santa Cesarea Terme, Otranto is one of the most fascinating destinations in Salento, famous for its historic center overlooking the sea. The cobbled streets lead to the magnificent Cathedral, with its 12th-century mosaic floor and the evocative Chapel of the Martyrs. On the promenade, you can relax in one of the many bars, enjoying the view of the bay. Also recommended is a dip in the turquoise waters of the Alimini Lakes, just minutes from the city.
#5 Leuca:
Santa Maria di Leuca, about 40 km from Santa Cesarea Terme, is the southernmost point of Salento, where the Ionian Sea meets the Adriatic. Its location offers spectacular views, especially from the Basilica de Finibus Terrae, perched above the promontory. Here you can explore sea caves with a boat trip and admire the sumptuous 19th-century villas overlooking the promenade. Don't forget to stop at the lighthouse, one of the highest in Italy, for a breathtaking view of the endless sea.
#6 Lecce:
About 45 km from Santa Cesarea Terme, Lecce is the beating heart of Salento, known as the "Florence of the South" for its extraordinary baroque architecture. Stroll through the historic center among churches and palaces sculpted in Lecce stone, such as the Basilica of Santa Croce and Piazza Duomo. The atmosphere is made even more vibrant by the craft shops and typical restaurants that offer the unique flavors of the local cuisine.
