Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Our home is a safe space for folks from all minority and marginalized groups. We welcome guests of all races, faiths, genders, and sexual orientations.

Choose from sixteen different beaches in the Town of Dennis. There is a $35 daily parking fee for visitors to town beaches between Memorial Day and Labor Day, collected by beach attendants. Credit card only.

The space
You will be close to everything when you stay in this centrally-located home in the South Dennis Historic District. Our historic sea captain's home was built in 1869, and we are only the fifth owners. We have an emotional investment in being good neighbors in our historic district. If you are passionate about 19th-century architecture and history, you will appreciate the quirks and charms of our old house.

Your upstairs bedroom includes two queen beds, a loveseat, and a dedicated workspace (desk and chair) with a surge-protected power bar. Your private bathroom has a large vanity/mirror and a soaking tub. Cape Codders love their outdoor showers, and you are welcome to share ours (eco-soap included) at the back of the house.

Please note that our 3/4-acre property includes extensive production gardens that are actively cultivated throughout the growing season. As a working garden space, areas of the property may be in various stages of planting, growing, harvesting, or maintenance, and may show signs of ongoing cultivation and seasonal work. We hope you'll enjoy the unique opportunity to experience the gardens as they evolve throughout the season.

A quick heads-up: our town is finally building long-overdue wastewater management infrastructure (your future beach days will thank you!). Work happens during daytime hours on weekdays, and while it’s all for a great cause—protecting our beautiful local waterways—there may be a few temporary road detours that add a little extra “scenic routing” to your Cape Cod travels.

We appreciate your patience and are always happy to suggest the best ways to get around so you can spend less time in the car and more time enjoying your stay.

Guest access
Your suite is accessed through a private entrance at the front of the house. Heavy curtains and a pet gate separate our living room from the front foyer. Like most older New England homes, a steep staircase leads upstairs, where you will find a generous bedroom with two queen beds, a loveseat, and a private bathroom featuring a soaking tub.

Outdoor showers are an integral part of an authentic Cape Cod vacation. Wash off the sand after a day at the beach while listening to the birds in the garden. Guests are welcome to use our outdoor shower located at the back of the house. Eco-safe soap (Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Soap) is provided to keep our gardens healthy.

You are invited to share our gardens, outdoor furniture, BBQ gas grill, outdoor dining set, and lawn games. Weather permitting, guests may ask for permission to use the fire pit.

For additional fees, you may request to rent one of our kayaks or stand-up paddle boards, pending availability. Message me for details on pricing ($40-$50) and availability.

Our quiet tree-lined neighborhood is a favorite for walkers. We are close to many trails, sixteen town beaches, and several conservation areas. Bicyclists can access the Cape Cod Rail Trail near our home and ride down the Cape all the way to Wellfleet.

Dennis’ hiking trails, all open to the public, include the 87-acre Fresh Pond Conservation Area off Route 134, and the Indian Lands Conservation Area encompassing 25 acres of woodlands and marshes along Bass River.

From the top of Scargo Hill Tower, you can see from Barnstable Harbor in the west to Provincetown in the east. Visit the Cape Playhouse and the Cape Museum of Fine Arts which houses a collection of 500 works by Cape-associated artists.
