The space
Been stressed lately? Stay for a week or a month to getaway in Mother Nature. Clear your mind and renew your soul nestled in our relaxing A-Frame on 70 acres.

Breathe fresh country air, hang out with chicken's and sweet dogs, walk the lake or trails, and relax on the big deck out back with build in seating, a charcoal and gas grill and table.

Easy kitchen set up with everything you need including dishes, sink with cold water and full sized fridge. Just bring food and clothes.

Make note there is no shower other than an outdoor hose, and inside is a camping compost toilet. Outside is a clean Johnny on the Spot, and an old time tin hot tub for bathing or building a fire for a soak.

It's truly nurturing everyone says, I love this space! We've set it up as a basic living kitchenette area with what you need to feel at home.

We call this The Magic Land Spiritual Retreat. Everyone who stays agrees it's the best. This is Sacred Ground and we honor the people, plants, animals and insects. We tune in to see what the highest and best answer is for each question. We also the practice leave it better than you found it principle, and leave no trace.

One day is like a week's vacation. We are a beautiful one hour drive from St. Louis, and believe in mindful living and being.

We are LGBTQ friendly and welcome all who love unconditionally.

You'll park in the driveway and walk down a long sidewalk for easy self check-in. Be sure to be mobile, we are more set up for children over 7 years old. Due to the uneven ground, steps and Mother Nature we are not setup for anyone with walking challenges.

Our Farm Charm A-Frame Cabin in The Woods is rustic and unfinished, real and raw. The walls are unfinished and the floors need painting. Other than that it's like a real house only more fun.

The restroom is an outdoor PortaPotty, and we have an indoor composting camp toilet with sawdust for inclement weather.

Bring your fishing pole as we have a 3 acre lake with bass, crappie, blue gill and catfish.

The Fun A-Frame was built in the 60's as a chapel when Washington University owned the property from 1960 to 1981. They created an educational retreat.

It has a propane 4-burner cooktop full sized fridge, lights, microwave, and coffee pot. We provide pots and pan and all the dishes and silverware you need and paper towels. Bring paper plates, cups and napkins if you don't want to do dishes. We have an indoor sink and galvanized tubs on the deck out back. People even love taking a cold shower out there, although we have a hot show up the hill available in the Lodge. Think of this as better than camping.

Make note this is rustic and real. It has unfinished walls with foam insulation exposed, concrete flooring on part of the space that needs a paint job. Partial electric and lights strung up with an extension cord, the cabinets have a curved plywood top that is unpainted with stains. This is a get real, be free, no fuss and easy space.

Make note, in the cold months the A-Frame is heated by a wood stove. If you are a wilderness camping expert and like it zesty and chilly when it's cold this will work for you.

Neighborhood highlights

We are down a road that ends at our place, it's private, quiet and incredible. You will pass our neighbors super neat Highland cows and the biggest one is Clarence, he has the horns the size of Texas.

We are an hour from Meramec Caverns, Elephant Rock State park and Johnson Shut ins. You can drive 15 minutes and rent a canoe or kayak on the Meramec River just down the road. Lewis's cafe in St. Clair is known for their pies and it was built I think in the 50's.
