Enjoy a stay at the historic Klipsan Beach Life Saving Station, situated just over a block from the ocean. The cozy and romantic Lower Deck offers a private, well-equipped retreat with space to cook, relax, and reconnect.
The large, fenced-in yard includes grills, a fire pit, dog run, and gazebo. Inside, you’ll find a gourmet kitchen and a thoughtfully curated selection of nautical movies, games, books, and puzzles for all ages.
The space
The Lower Deck is a cozy, ground-level one-bedroom unit, ideal for couples, small families, or guests with limited mobility. The bedroom is suite-like in size, featuring a king bed that can be split into twins with at least one week’s notice, a comfortable reading chair, a smart TV in addition to the one in the living area, and plenty of space to relax. The single-level layout is also well suited for families traveling with infants.
A shaded, gated patio sits just below the Upper Deck—perfect for outdoor dining, morning coffee, or giving pets and kids a secure place to play. A strong Wi‑Fi connection is available for those who bring along work or entertainment, and pet-friendly touches include extra towels and a nearby dedicated dog area, in addition to the dog run.
The open kitchen includes a large island, ideal for advanced meal-prep, a dedicated workspace, or family meals, and the living space features a wood-burning fireplace, porthole-style windows, and an open, spacious layout with a quiet, cottage-like atmosphere. The bathroom has two access points—one from the bedroom and one from the main living area—offering added flexibility for families or early risers.
Entertainment includes two 4K smart TVs, a large DVD collection (with family favorites), and a carefully curated digital movie library focused on ocean and nautical themes. Guests also have access to puzzles, unique board games, and books on marine life and coastal history.
The unit shares access to the fully fenced yard with picnic tables, grills, a fire pit, gazebo, and an extended dog run. A laundry room is available on site with exterior entry; it also contains outdoor gear and yard games for guest use.
Educational materials on maritime history, ocean science, and regional ecology are provided in the unit, along with archival content on the Life Saving Station, thoughtfully assembled for both adults and younger learners.
Whether you're planning a romantic weekend or a family getaway, the Lower Deck provides a quiet, comfortable space with thoughtful touches throughout.

Lives in Ocean Park, Washington
We are a small family who has been working for the last several years to restore a former U.S. Life Saving Station (which later became a Coast Guard Station). In order to support its renovation and share it with the community, we are eager to rent it out as a vacation home for all who want to enjoy its history, or even just a week at the beach.
