Let us welcome you to 100 Acre Wood, a historic farm and working cattle ranch. Owl's House is a private and stylish guest house nestled within the trees and garden and offers 180° views. Our farm store is stocked with our own TX Longhorn beef and pasture-raised chicken and eggs, plus curated with local products. Enjoy pastoral farm life and our private forest trails, or get out and play in the area's abundance of fine dining, wineries, seasonal attractions, outdoor activities, and entertainment.

The space
Owl's House is a comfortable, private 2-story cottage-style home set on 100 acres of historic farmland dating back to the 1740s.

The interiors, designed by owner and interior designer Kim Grijalva, create real warmth and a genuine sense of place — rustic but charming, a true home away from home. At 1,200 square feet, it's cozy but not cramped, with a private deck and garden, a fire pit area, and trails through the wooded parts of the farm, striking a nice balance of rustic charm and thoughtful comfort.

"We want our guests to feel right at home on their farm away from home."

The full kitchen and outdoor grill come well-appointed with everything you need to cook, or order in and enjoy a relaxed evening on the deck.

Get a taste of local flavor at the seasonal Farm Store on the property, featuring our own pasture-raised beef, chicken, and eggs, along with locally sourced, small-batch ingredients like honey, jams, syrup, coffee beans, and fresh sourdough on Sundays, plus a gourmet pantry. We support small businesses, small-batch makers, and fellow farmers.

The living area has a 9' leather couch, a bar area, board games for rainy days, and a 55" TV with complimentary Amazon Prime — catch up on Yellowstone and the Dutton Ranch, and with Texas Longhorn grazing in the pasture out front, you might just feel your inner cowboy coming out.

The treetop main bedroom offers 180° views, sunrises and sunsets, and a Casper king bed with soft cotton sheets and a cozy comforter. The second bedroom has a Casper queen bed and a twin daybed, perfect for extra guests. Robes are provided in both rooms.

The bathroom is fully updated with a walk-in shower, Watermark fixtures and rainshower head, plush towels, and all-natural bath amenities made with tea tree oil (no phthalates or other harsh additives).
We're a regenerative working farm, and guests are welcome to enjoy it at their own pace. We don't offer planned activities, but we're always happy to answer questions and share what we've learned over the years farming and raising cattle. The area also has plenty to offer beyond the farm, from horseback riding and day hikes to kayaking. And for the foodies, you're in for a treat — this stretch is brimming with some of the best restaurants east of Manhattan, including two James Beard Award-winning chefs and a Michelin Star chef-owned restaurant, plus wineries, breweries, and farm-to-table dining galore.

However you like to enjoy the outdoors is up to you — throw open the windows and let the birdsong (or an autumn breeze) fill the house, stroll past the pastures, or head into the woods for a quiet moment under the trees. We go about our day tending to farm life, and leave you to yours. All farm animals stay safely in gated pastures with hot wire, though the gates themselves aren't electrified, and the horses know to greet guests there. Feel free to bring baby carrots, or we can provide kibble for feeding them. You'll also find four cats on the property — Twig, Milo, Russell, and Thomas — and two dogs, Margie and Gidget, all friendly (some maybe a little too friendly). Chickens and a pig named Milly round out the crew, and kids are welcome to help collect eggs — just ask in advance.

Guest access
Your accommodations include a private 2-bedroom, 1-bath guest house with a living room, full kitchen, private deck, private garden, and dedicated firepit area, and an array of amenities. We love farm life and history; we returned to the northeast to the 1740's Prentice-Browning homestead in N Stonington, CT. We fell in love with the 100+ acres; the rolling pasture with mountain views, the abundance of nature and the balance between living in the country and still feeling plugged in to culture and community. We're reimagining the main house but we welcome guests to the, luxuriously appointed and private Owl’s House.
