Cottage vacation rentals in Gullane

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our getaway to Kersmains bothy. It felt very luxurious, with plenty of space for two! The sunroom/ kitchen is a lovely space to cook and the living room is so cosy and atmospheric in the evenings. We loved the hot tub under the stars as there is very little light pollution. Perfect for a country escape to the borders.

Thank you so much for such a lovely stay. The accommodation was really lovely, warm and comfortable with amazing views. We enjoyed the walks from the door and Melrose was wonderful. The lemon drizzle cake, wine, flowers and milk were very kind.

We walked in the property in awe..!! What an amazing place “house on the hill” is. My wife and I couldn’t stop looking out at the view even at night time when it was dark. Under floor heating and a log fire certainly keeps you cozy throughout your stay. We had a bath on both nights together and we could sit side by side it’s that big and take in the view of the stars and planets. That was a first for both of us..!!! The bed is that comfy my wife had decided we need one exactly like it and the same size, which I’ve agreed too. We took in a day in Elie, Pitwimmen, St Monans & Anstruther. We had breakfast at the Pavillion and meal at Ship Inn. Both places were lovely and great food. We haven’t had the luxury like this before so we are going to book again for next year. We were looking for a total peaceful break, clear instructions on how to use amenities, hot tub was really clean and really warm so enjoyed hours relaxing in it! Thank you Ainslie ❤️

I came to Scotland with the intent of visiting this beautiful cottage and boy am I glad I did. The home was private, quiet, spacious, and homey. We took advantage of the kitchen to cook breakfast and dinners, the fireplace inside for a cozy reading night, and the firepit outside despite some wind. Kirkaldy is a 35 minute walk from the cottage where you can access the Fife coastal path and see the small local town and stunning sea. Another thing I loved about this stay were the linens and bathrobes- so luxe and comfortable! Things to be aware of: Ubers do not access the property but jane provided local taxi numbers for us which we used. There are not many spices in the home so if you do plan on cooking with them, be sure to bring some. Finally, be prepared for sadness when you leave because you will miss this dreamy Airbnb.

Very well designed cottage making the best possible use of quite a small space - with both a shower room and bathroom , utility room as well as kitchen/living space and the patio with hot tub. Although near to the High Street with a range of takeaways and a superb butcher (Hunters) the cottage is in a very quiet street. The nearby Curate Wynd free car park was very handy and we could unload from there. Although Dawn and Darren were away Dawn was on hand to answer any queries. We had a great three day break - spending the days at the RSPB Nature Reserve in stunning weather. We ate out one night at the Balgedie Toll Tavern - highly recommended for great food and very good service.

Wonderful stay. The location is absolutely superb. What amazing views and so peaceful and remote. Sitting in the hot tub looking out over the hills was pure bliss!! And the stars you could see on a clear night, wow. Despite being so remote it’s close enough to Edinburgh that you can drive in and do all the attractions. So just perfect. Kylie was a fab host too, leaving Easter eggs for the kids and letting the kids feed her kunekune pig one day! The animals are great, especially Karen then hen, although she will come inside if allowed haha! All in all, we had a fantastic stay. Thank you Kylie

We had an absolutely lovely time at Ali's place. Spacious, clean and very comfortable. Hot tub and garnden really make the place with stunning views. Easy access to Edinburgh by train and car and also the Fife coastal path. We loved it! would be very happy to return again one day. Ali was the perfect host.

A lovely little flat, ideal for 2 people, but we managed with a child and... a dog! Whilst the space is rather limited, Anne ensured that it is functional and well thought through. She's also provided coffee (which was delicious with our breakfasts), milk and snacks, which was a lovely bonus. The flat is newly refurbished and modern and it was very, very clean when we arrived! The bed is on a small end of things, so I opted to sleep on the sofa with the child, which was extremely comfortable. Location is a good compromise for visitors who want to be close enough to Edinburgh, but also have quick access to the north. Thanks Anne, you are a great host!

We had a great time at Libby’s. We used this location as a central landing place after exploring around St Andrew’s, Stirling, Falkirk, Culross. We felt well taken care of and appropriately checked in on. It was a very cosy stay!

Just back from a 4 night stay. We really enjoyed ourselves , beautiful little cottage with the best garden. Ideal base to explore the lovely places nearby like Eyemouth , Berwick , Holy island and St Abbs etc.

Cottage was comfortable, well equipped, clean and tidy and just what we needed. Everything that we needed. We were there for work and it did fit the bill but would be a great place for a peaceful break. Centrally located in Fife too.

Nothing short of amazing! A nature lover’s paradise (even with the Scottish weather). Got dry weather for an hour one morning haha so had a lovely breakfast in the garden. Met two tiny (literally newborn) lambs in the field next to us! All wobbly on their feet. So cute!! Friendly hosts, very clean and well decorated.

Wonderful location and Georgie's place is perfect to walk and explore. Facilities as described and the fireplace is perfect to read a book by if the weather turns bad. Really enjoyed our stay and will be back.

We had a four night break at The Yair and absolutely loved it. The house is lovely inside, cosy, comfortable, and has everything you need for a home away from home. The garden is beautiful and it was very enjoyable spending time outside listening to the birds and stargazing. We have already booked to come back for another stay next year.

We were in Elie for 2 nights and the Cupboard was great for a short stay as we ate out both nights. Although exceptionally well equipped for such a short space it would have been difficult to cook. due to the lack of workspace. The design of the space is exceptional for the size of the space and the wood burner kept us lovely and cosy. There are 5 beds all together but it would have been a challenge having more than the 2 of us and our wee dog. We love Elie and will be back and it's very likely that we will use Short Stay St Andrews again.

The Bread oven was very comfortable, well equipped and furnished particularly if you want to cook your own meals. The china, cutlery and utensils were all of a much better quality than most Airbnbs .We enjoyed being to sit in an attractive garden. The home made bread, shortbread biscuits, fruit juice, butter, milk and jam were much appreciated and Andy and Sue were helpful and friendly hosts. It was also very useful to be able to charge our EV car on site. We were sent a comprehensive log book before we arrived with gave a lot of useful and helpful information about the cottage and the area. There was plenty of storage space both for clothes and food. We hope to return to explore more of the area than 3 days allowed.

Beautiful property in a peaceful location. Set on a beautiful estate. We were very lucky with the weather but it would be great in any conditions! Lovely furnishings and decor. Kitchen well stocked and very clean. Great character property. Very nice log burner. Easy to get into Edinburgh centre but so peaceful. Would recommend.

Clean, warm and beautiful furnished. Only issue was parking. A few spaces available otherwise it is street parking.

If you want to escape the hustle and bustle this cottage is definitely for you. A nice relaxing space with an enclosed private garden where you can sit with your hound and watch the birds. Rupert was a superb host, we can highly recommend the home made jam and bread!

Cottage is in a great location with easy walk to town centre, swingpark and harbour. Kitchen/sitting area is great for having everyone in one area and the garden is lovely. The cottage was well stocked with everything you could need from kitchen equipment and outdoor items including badminton rackets and football (oh and a wee dog bed I found in hall cupboard). Beds were comfy and the rooms had great blackout blinds (which are sometimes lacking in other places). Would definitely use again and recommend to families.

We’ve just arrived home from another amazing stay at the beautiful Border View cottage. Lucy is a fantastic host: super responsive, friendly and makes you right feel at home. Border View is a wonderfully charming cottage with spacious, airy rooms and amazing views. It is a very private and peaceful location and offers an array of nature walks which my little miniature schnauzer loved! You feel out of the way of the hustle and bustle, but still just a short car ride away from the busier villages in the area. To the rear of the property is a large garden with views across the pretty field and beyond - my favourite part was watching the stars at night as the sky is so clear here - beautiful! Lucy’s cottage is beautiful and has everything you need for a cosy stay including a log fire with logs kindly provided, a large kitchen and dining area and the beds are very comfortable. We had the absolute pleasure of staying here for 3 nights for my partners birthday and can honestly say we enjoyed every single minute. From meeting with Nick the host at check in he was friendly informative and welcoming. To the amazing scenery and amnesties with the beautiful animals. The quality of duvets, towels and bed sheets were amazing! We felt so cozy,comfortable and at home throughout our full stay. A fully equipped kitchen with everything you need. Cozy living room with smart tv was a great addition. Beds were extremely comfortable and curtains were black out so a great night sleep was had. Shower was great pressure and beautiful aaran aromatics body wash shampoo ect all supplied. Spotlessly clean property throughout. We can’t fault our stay at all and cannot wait to return!
