Villa Taddei - near and away

Villa Taddei is a beautiful house built in the seventies by my uncle as a second house where to spend relaxing time away from the bustle of the city of Rome. My uncle, who was a veterinary loved nature and this was the perfect place to enjoy his cats and dogs and to work at his garden and plot and enjoy . The garden is huge and it's full of fruit trees: apricots, peaches, plums in summer, pears, apple and lots of oranges and lemons in winter! It really spreads peace and quietness. Villa Taddei is peaceful inside too with its walls totally white, a bright light and a pleasant natural atmosphere. There are 3 double rooms and an extra funny bed under a wall arch in the living room. Other extra beds can also be requested. There are also three bathrooms and a solar shower outside in the garden. There is the place to park up to 4 cars inside the property and the Villa has the automatic garden door and the camara at the door bell. Outside in the garden you have two porches and a stone barbecue and all you need to stay comfortable outdoor, including bikes for your trips. We are close to the coast (4 km) in the southern part of the province of Rome, at the beginning of the Pontine and close to the Castelli Romani. In these parts, it is a little 'history and a bit' legend, Aeneas landed, precisely in Lavinio, today also called Lido di Enea. The location of the villa, which makes it advisable but not essential to have a car, is an excellent base for your visit to Rome, with the advantage of accommodation in the open countryside away from the chaos and congestion and pollution big city. To get to Rome we suggest you arrive by car to EUR, important and interesting suburb south of the city, and then take the metro. In particular, you should take in the vicinity of the villa Via Laurentina and hence the Pontina (SS 148) which continues as Via Cristoforo Colombo in Eur, where there are several metro line B metro (Laurentina, Eur Fermi - most recommended - Eur Palasport, Eur Magliana) and where you can easily park. The total distance by car is about 30 km with a travel time of 20-25 minutes. Another solution is to reach by car or train from Santa Palomba-Pomezia or to Campoleone both about 15 minutes away and from there take the train to Rome Termini (website hidden). The Fiumicino airport is about 40 '. In addition Nearby Rome there are many things of interest and amusement. Here are some references: the Zoomarine water park between Pomezia and Torvaianica 15 ' the Landriana Gardens in Tor San Lorenzo 15 ' the Castelli Romani 30 ' the Manzù Museum in Ardea 5 ' Anzio and Nettuno to 25 ' the Gardens of Ninfa 30 ' the Shopping Village with a factory outlet stores of major fashion houses in the Castelromano Pontina to 20 ' Ostia Antica Ostia Lido and to 25 ' the rock and the natural park of Circeo to 60 '.

This place is very special; you can relax in the lovely grounds and imagine yourself a million miles from the hustle and bustle of Rome. There are many varied and interesting things to do in the area, without even venturing into Rome. But what makes this accommodation so special is the hostess Maria. she is so welcoming and attentive, and obviously enjoys meeting new people. At the same time she is not intrusive, and in fact spends most of her time in Rome. The house has been in her family for generations, and has a fascinating history. Everything possible has been done to make the accommodation comfortable and enjoyable.

I honestly can’t recommend this place highly enough. We were so well looked after. The host (Laura) even drove me to the local supermarket to get groceries, as we arrived late and had our child with us. It seemed that nothing was too much trouble. The place is incredible! Large, traditionally decorated interior and impressive outside space. A lovely little welcome pack is available in the kitchen with some breakfast items and the whole place was outstandingly clean. You won’t be disappointed with this accommodation. Thank you so very much Laura!!! You went above and beyond for us and that was before you posted a scarf back to us in the UK that we left in Rome. We can’t wait to come back! See you soon.

First of all, I would like to spend 2 nice words for Aldo who was kind to welcome us even as we were late. Friendly and available to give us information on how and where to get around and eat. Aldo's house is clean, large, and we don't miss anything regarding the essential amenities. There is a parking space on site (convenient for those of us who have children) and is surrounded by greenery, in a quiet but well-connected setting and close to the center. I visited Chalet Marmont for the second time. First, alone. This time, with my family: a baby, a child, and four adults. Both times were unforgettable. A spacious house with a backyard is a rarity in Rome, and this one has a unique decor, full of history and very well preserved. Although a car is needed to reach the historic center, it’s well worth it if you’re looking for privacy, warmth, comfort, beauty and attention to detail. The renovation they did to the place turned it into a true work of art. Additionally, you can count on the friendliness, attentiveness, and proactivity of the host, Mario. He was always available to help us with the most diverse requests. The market, just a 5-minute drive from the house, is excellent and has everything you need for great meals. It felt like the old Airbnb days, where you could experience local life and connect with real people, not just a company. Staying here is truly special.

Illaria's villa is the best choice if you need something really private, peaceful, with big green yard and a cosy little house. Our furry family members were also warmly welcomed! It is 7 min car drive to the beach (a wide and long coastline with everything you need) and 45 min drive to Colosseum. If you come by car you have a very secure and locked parking slot on the territory which is also priceless :) Can't wait to come back again!
