Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Grimes County

We enjoyed our stay!! It’s a charming old home with lots of original character. If you love old homes and the country life, which we do then you’ll love this place! Everything we needed was provided. I enjoyed drinking coffee on the porch and watching the cows. There are gravel roads in and out, as mentioned in the listing but they are well maintained. It’s an easy drive to College Station if you’re in town for a game or event.

Cowabunga Cottage is a slice of heaven! Perfect place for peaceful getaway yet only a short drive to College Station. From relaxing on the porch with a cup of coffee in the morning to an outdoor retreat on the patio with a warm fire in the fire pit, such an amazing place to unplug and recharge. Philip has thought of every detail that makes the stay very stress free. Be sure and set aside time to get to know the cows and donkeys. 🐂🫏

Sonia is a wonderful host! She is quick to respond and makes sure you are comfortable during your stay! The place is peaceful but there is a train! It’s a nice rumble when it comes through. The hot tub is a great bonus. Anytime I need a place to stay, I will always book this place! The price is definitely worth it!

We loved our stay! We were there for one night to visit the ren Faire and everything was great! Place is adorable and clean and the surrounding property is beautiful with the Meadery, bee farm, and gift shop. There is a screened in patio to have coffee on in the morning that is perfect. We would definitely stay again! Only comment is if you were arriving after dark it might be hard to find the entrance, but we got there during the day and had no problem.

John's place the "Harris-Martin House" is one of the best Airbnb experiences I've ever had. This house has been kept and updated very well. There are not enough characters available for me to accurately describe this experience. John provides a history of the house dating all the way back to the 1800s. I felt very privileged to stay in the home. There are two bedrooms right off the living room/parlor room and one located upstairs. There is plenty of space to spread out and relax. There is one bathroom downstairs that has a shower and the another bathroom with a bathtub upstairs. With six of us being here, this was never an issue for us. The water pressure was strong and water was hot! There was enough room for the six of us to craft at the kitchen table as well as have brunch set up and in the evenings enjoyed the margarita machine. Meeting John & his wife at the winery was amazing! DO NOT MISS THIS!! John is so knowledgable & passionate about the town of Anderson and his winery.

Cute lil spot! Secluded and quiet. Had everything we needed with awesome views. Great layout for large families.Justin was very helpful and responsive. We had to plan a last minute trip and he went out of his way to help. Kids had a blast walking the little trails. We will definitely be returning!

Perfect cabin with a very thoughtful host. Nothing was missing. Needed a bandaid, opened a cabinet and there was a selection. Very much appreciated. Will stay there again!
