The cottage was snug and clean, while Jane and Jeremy were lovely and responsive. We made heaps of use of the wood burner and there was a good store of firewood, and Jeremy gave us plenty of ideas for where to go walking. We also loved all the figs and apples - they even encouraged us to take some home with us. All in all, it was a wonderful getaway and such a peaceful time for the two of us. It wasn't as private as we expected (the cottage is only a lawn away from the main house), but that's likely due to us misreading the description. It was still quiet and restful.

Alice’s home is a truly peaceful sanctuary — a modern, elegant refuge where nature and design come together in perfect harmony. The clean architectural lines, serene colour palette, and beautifully curated interiors made the space feel both calming and luxurious. Every detail, from the layout to the lighting, felt deeply intentional and inviting. The three of us — close friends — had such a wonderful time here. Whether we were sharing meals, soaking in the spa under the stars, or simply unwinding in the serene indoor spaces, the home offered the perfect setting to reconnect, laugh, and rest. The surrounding trees, birdsong, and lush gardens made it feel like we were held by nature the entire time — utterly magical. Alice was a phenomenal host: warm, communicative, and thoughtful throughout. She’s created a space that’s more than just a place to stay — it’s a place to pause, exhale, and truly be. We left feeling restored and full of gratitude. Can't wait to return, thank you Alice.

We were very grateful to be able to share a long weekend with the dogs at this traditional family-focussed Kapiti Coast bach. Very short walk to the beach, a walk or minutes drive to the fabulous Bus Stop Cafe, and close enough to provisions, cafes etc at neighboring beaches. Well set up, comfortable, clean and easy comms. Amazing hosts, very clean and extremely comfortable and peaceful! We had an amazing time. Thank you for the Easter eggs and the handwritten note! It made us feel very welcomed. Also the generosity of being able to use coffee etc and the milk in the fridge when we arrived! We were touched by the generosity. Thank you!

What a spot! We had a dreamy time at the cottage, and already want to return and stay longer. River walks, fantails, sheep in the front paddock, fire place, so many interesting books and magazines. A home away from home. Great family getaway.

We stayed for a long weekend for a girls weekend and to do a long day walk on a Saturday. Beautiful spot to relax for a weekend or if you’re planning a hike around the area. The cottage had everything we needed and more and we definitely left feeling like we had a mini vacation! Richard was great at communicating and making sure our time spent at the cottage was wonderful. The pool was an absolute treat after our hike and the spa also to stargaze. Thank you!

We were visiting family in Upper Hutt. We needed a home base for 3 people for a 16 night stay. Willem's accommodations were perfect with room to spare. Plenty of room for a large group. Easy check in and ability to come and go as we liked. We were traveling with our 81 year old father and it was perfect for us. There were 3 bedrooms on the main floor and 2 bathrooms, one with a wonderful shower and the other with a tub. Also the living spaces were very spacious and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and recommend Willem's home.

We had a long 6hr drive and clay place was easy to find on the map. Julia had already sent code which was awesome because we were able to enter the house without any problems and clay was only a msg away if we needed anything. We were able to relax as soon as we arrived and it felt like we were right at home. The house is such a cozy peaceful house if you wanting to unwind and the beach was just a small walk away and we were lucky enough to see the sunset.

It was an absolute joy to be hosted at Mark's whare. It's a home away from home, well taken care of and well loved, but also very beautiful. The Decor is stunning and it was so easeful to stay for a week. We also forgot an important belonging, Mark went out of his way to make sure it was returned. Just a straight up good host.

A really good stay! The Airbnb was exactly as described—clean, well-maintained, and met all expectations. The location was perfect, especially with the local swimming pool nearby. Cindy's whare was the perfect place to host a house of kaumātua. It was clean, pristine, the kitchen had everything to prepare meals. We were thankful for the neighbours too as they reminded us about rubbish/recycling day in and amongst a busy film festival schedule. A beautiful spot.

We had a great stay. The place was spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed. There was a fully fenced backyard which was perfect for my dog, the sofas were super comfortable for relaxing, the beach was just short 10 minute walk away. Brenda was super flexible and accommodating, when we had an extra person turn up on our second night Brenda allowed them to stay at no extra charge. Would definitely stay again.
