1888 Hidden Gem (Acadia Nat. Park)

ChintanRating, 5 stars32 months ago
Cute little inn with everything you need. Kind of in the middle of nowhere. Very remote feel which is great. Megan and her cousin and the folks there were very hospitable. Only issue i had was with the WiFi. As I had to take a few zoom calls it kept going in and out. Otherwise the place is awesome, highly recommend.

The Southwester Suite - Harbour Cottage Inn Bed and Breakfast

SarahRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We loved our first bed and breakfast experience! The daily two course breakfast was amazing and we all looked forward to the sweet afternoon treats. It was so convienent to have the Bowspirit bar at the BnB, the food was amazing and made dinner easy when we tired from the day. It’s definitely the peaceful side of the island but not a long drive to Bar Harbor. We had a lot of space, the beds were comfortable, and we appreciated the outdoor space.
A cozy room features a king bed adorned with decorative pillows. The wooden ceiling and warm lighting create a welcoming ambiance. Carpeted flooring is complemented by a woven area rug. A bench at the foot of the bed adds functional elegance, with windows offering views of the outside.

Ironbound Inn Room 4, Near Acadia

TongRating, 5 stars30 months ago
Meeting Leslie and staying/ dining in her Ironbound Restaurant & Inn was a highlight of our trip to Maine. We arrived a few hours before the dinner and Leslie introduced us a nice walk nearby to the ocean side before we had dinner at the restaurant. The room was clean and well decorated, full of Leslie’s personal touch that shows her great art taste. In the room we also found a print out of her great tips about exploring the Acadia area that you can hardly get elsewhere. Super great experience and I highly recommend!

3 Black Friar Inn and Pub Quiet Room

JoshuaRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We couldn’t be happier with our stay! Everyone we encountered at the Black friar was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The food was above and beyond our expectations, and we didn’t feel the need to go to any other restaurants. THE COFFEE in the morning is roasted locally and tastes really special. We will be recommending the inn to everyone we know going to Bar Harbor! Thank you!!!

The Carriage House - Harbour Cottage Inn Bed and Breakfast

VictorRating, 5 stars6 months ago
I would like to start by saying that if you’re considering going to Bar Harbor and need a place to stay, please do yourself the favor and book your stay at the Harbor Cottage Inn. If they’re fully booked, reschedule your trip, it simply won’t be the same anywhere else. My wife & I had a wonderful 4 day stay with Dora & Daniel. Dora is an exceptional host and extremely friendly and hardworking. Daniel’s breakfast & dinner bites would put many restaurants in the area to shame, it’s absolutely phenomenal. The Inn is perfectly located in Southwest Harbor, which puts you close enough to enjoy the island during the day and far enough to peacefully decompress in the evening. I can truly say that if we would have stayed anywhere else, our time at Bar Harbor/Mount Desert Island would have not been the same. I am extremely grateful to Dora & Daniel for the experience & I can’t wait to go back for 2025! Thank you!

4 Black Friar Inn and Pub Turret Room

BethanyRating, 5 stars6 months ago
The Black Friar was a great spot. The turret room was unique and very comfortable! We loved sitting by the fire in our “second floor” Everything was very clean and comfortable with little New England-y touches. The restaurant downstairs was delicious and the included breakfast was a full menu, so much better than a hotel continental breakfast! The location is super close to other restaurants and shops and Acadia. I can say that if we are ever back in Bar Harbor I will definitely be booking here again

The Downeaster - Harbour Cottage Inn Bed and Breakfast

PatriciaRating, 5 stars32 months ago
Cute little bed and breakfast away from the Bar Harbor crowds. Only ~20-25 min drive into the main part of Acadia National Park. Dora was lovely and hospitable. Breakfast was lovely in the mornings and we enjoyed our meals on the porch. The nearby town is small (within walking distance), but has some amazing restaurants (go to Hearth and Harbor). Highly recommend this place if you want to stay near the park, but away from the touristy areas.

Taunton River Bed and Breakfast, Sullivan Room

FlorenceRating, 5 stars6 months ago
We loved our stay with Margaret at this B&B! The house is lovely and our room was clean, super comfortable, and had a warm homey feel. The breakfasts were delicious and Margaret was so accommodating. We had early starts for Acadia and while her formal breakfast is from 8-10 am, she prepared baked goods and coffee to go for us. The one day we had formal breakfast was DELISH! Margaret was communicative, incredibly accommodating and flexible, greeted us kindly on arrival, and she and her husband were excellent hosts, intent on making sure our visit was just to our liking. The area is very quiet (which she let us know ahead of time) and worked perfectly for us to rest up between long days at Acadia and grabbing early dinner on the way back.

Wow! To say that we were blown away by Diana and Azie’s hospitality would be a complete understatement! Everything from the wonderful recommendations to the absolutely gorgeous home, made our trip to Surry so special. If you are looking for a beautiful escape with lots to do, look no further! Diana and Azie took every opportunity to make sure that we felt extremely comfortable and at home during our stay. With lots of recommendations for what to do and see, we had loads to choose from each day. We were a close drive to plenty of local attractions, which made planning our trip that much easier.
