Vacation rentals in Gainesville

Thank you for sharing your home with us. It was very peaceful , quiet and remote which we love. Hiking in nearby Shenandoah National Park was excellent. We enjoyed our Easter holiday and would recommend this spot to anyone who loves the great outdoors! We loved our campfires and the hot tub after a long days hike.

I cannot count how many times we’ve stayed at Montfair. Heck, my wife and I got married there in July of 23! This is our home away from home which is a short ride from Richmond, yet worlds away. Thank you again for hosting us. We had an excellent end to Spring break at Loblolly. Until next time.

This cabin was everything we wanted and more! It’s in the perfect location, just a short drive to so many activities but also tucked away offering privacy. The house was so cozy it put us at ease as soon as we walked in. The owner was proactive and very quick to respond, including sending a great packing and local activity list a couple days in advance of our trip which came in very handy. Activities: This rental comes with guest passes to the private Shark Tooth Beach where our kids had so much fun finding real shark and manta ray teeth in the sand! Westmorland State Park and George Washington’s Birthplace both had great hiking and beaches for the kids. We visited Garners Produce twice where the kids fed animals and pedaled toy tractor’s while we picked up farm fresh milk and eggs. We spent our afternoons kayaking on the quiet lake soaking up the sunshine. We will definitely book another vacation at this cabin. You will not be disappointed with your stay at this little gem!

Margie was great. She introduced herself to my son and I right when we got there. The accommodations were excellent. Beds were super comfy and everything was very clean. House sits right on a small lake in a very nice neighborhood.

We enjoyed staying at Taby's place, it was very cozy with everything we needed! Taby was quick to respond to any questions that we had, we would love to stay again if we're ever in Virginia.

The house itself is cute and perfect for a short stay. The beds are super comfy and the place is nicely decorated. We enjoyed turning the little electric fireplace on in the evening when we were relaxing. FYI…..There is a railroad running directly in front of the house but surprisingly the noise from the train wasn’t that bad and it was kind of cool watching it pass through from time to time. Lastly, I would like to thank Julie for letting us stay at her place for the weekend and for being such a considerate, knowledgeable and caring host!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We stay at a lot of Air BnB locations, and this is most definitely one of the top places we have rented. The most important things : spotless and clean throughout, beds were incredibly comfortable, kitchen stocked with any items you could possibly need (including assorted spices), location excellent for access to Shenandoah or the town of Elkton. The little extras earned this a perfect rating, like a clean hot tub, serene surroundings, stocked coffee and bottled water, and my personal favorite - heated toilet seats. Never thought I would care about that, but they were fantastic! 😂 We will definitely be back.

A true hidden gem! The perfect amount of privacy and serenity we needed for a birthday getaway. Smooth and easy check in. Detailed touches around the place like labels really made it easy and comfortable stay. Matt was very nice and an excellent communicator with clear instructions before, during, and after the stay. We will definitely book again!

We were 4 adults and 1 child (9y). We absolutely loved our stay at Jackie’s place. She was proactive in her communication and very flexible. She was able to offer as an extra night for free. We understand that this will not always be possible but it isn’t the norm nowadays anymore and it shows she goes above and beyond for her customers. The house was close to the beach, clean and everything was just as described online. We loved the quiet area, perfect for families with children or people who don’t like overcrowded beaches. Our boy loved catching jelly fish, collecting rocks and shells and of course being in the water. Our favorite restaurant was high tides (yummy cocktails and the best fish and chips basket). We also ventured out to see James Monroe’s and George Washington’s birthplace which were only a 20 minutes drive away and really worth a visit. Jackie, thank you for everything!
