Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Frederick County

Matthew was an exceptional host and his house was very well equipped for our 8 adults and 4 toddlers. We were so grateful for Matthew’s willingness to go out of his way to help when we needed something and he came over to help when we weren’t getting enough hot water. He even brought us medicine when some of us weren’t feeling well! Would absolutely recommend staying at Matthew’s in the future.

Absolutely beautiful home and location. Host was very responsive, helpful, and attentive during our stay. We definitely would love to come back during the warmer months to fish and hike. The local butcher had delicious steaks that we cooked on the grille, got live bait from the gas station down the road, and the Mexican restaurant in town was absolutely delicious. Wonderful experience and stay for the new year. The fires and smores by the river were our kid’s favorite thing to do.

The house was easy to find right on route 11. Julie & Matt were very friendly and communicative. They allowed us to push back our check in because of snow. The driveway and walkway were plowed and shoveled for us before we arrived. We did have a little hiccup with the heat on our first night (it was a super cold spell), but I woke up to a message from Matt with his handyman ready to come take a look. It was easily fixed and they followed up later in the day to make sure! The house was great for our family of 5, the kids had the entire upstairs area and the kitchen was well stocked with everything necessary to cook at home! We loved the view out back of the mountains and cow pasture. Highly recommend!!

This place was great! Small, cozy location in the mountains! It was peaceful and just what we were looking for 😊 everything was nice and clean, and we felt right at home!

Pleasant stay not far off of Route 81. perfect for an overnight during a multi-state trip. very quiet and comfy. host is very organized and communicative through messages and signage in the unit.

Beautiful, clean, airy, modern house! The host stocked it with plenty of supplies and anticipated our every need. All floors in main and upper level wood and felt clean and all beds had duvet covers. Bathrooms stocked with shampoo and blow dryers, laundry stocked with detergent and even a steamer. They thought of everything. The host was really responsive and helpful. The house is near the end of a gravel road that at the same time was remote and private but felt safe. We were a large family group over Thanksgiving weekend and it was freezing outside (so we couldn’t use the beautiful pool and even too cold to use the propane fire pit) but the house had lots of space for 15 of us to spread out and keep busy - an exercise room, a TV room, a pool table room, a sunny common room. It was close enough to Winchester, VA where there was lots to do. A fabulous, well organized community Thanksgiving 5K, a children’s museum and history museum. 1.5 hours from metro DC area.

Made a quick trip to the area to visit family and enjoyed staying here. There was lots of space for us and our dog. Kimberly was accommodating with an earlier check in and had thoughtful details throughout.

This place is perfect!! Stayed here with my husband and dog for a few days while visiting family for the holidays and we will definitely be back! It’s actually bigger than it appears in the pictures— and so cute! There was even a Christmas tree all lit up with presents under it— which was so sweet! The bed is super comfortable, there is every appliance you could need in the kitchen (even the cutest little waffle maker ever), and excellent water pressure in the shower (and a surprisingly large bathroom). And the chickens in the yard were adorable! We loved staying here!

We had the best time at our stay! It was quiet, peaceful and comfortable. Exactly what we needed for our trip! We especially enjoyed the chickens and Dasher the dog😃 And the honey is delicious too! Highly recommend. Thank you very much for the hospitality! Jeromy + Gabrielle Bryk

Very responsive, clean, enough space for everyone.

Cabin was as advertised- right on the river and I didn't realize there was a small grocery store/butcher about 10 minutes away- came in handy when I forgot to pack my dinner! As a football fan, I was happy to see the Wifi was great- no issues streaming.

The team was helpful and responsive. There was an issue with the charcoal grill grates but we were pleased that after communicating it to them they had the issue fixed in an hour by bringing new grill grates for us to use. We loved using their fire table on the back porch. Super easy to turn on and has a nice view of a stream in the backyard. One thing that we weren’t pleased with was the couch in the living room. We tried watching a movie there and found it to be uncomfortable and small. But that is just one small nitpick. Overall, we had a great stay!

My family and I were looking to get away as a family between Christmas and New Year's in the mountains and Eagles Dwelling was exactly what we were looking for. The highlights for our family of four were definitely the views, the extra-large hot tub, ping pong was a huge hit, and the conversation pit was pretty cool. The house was very well furnished and even though we couldn't or didn't use a lot of what the house offers (shooting range, pool, walking trails from the house) everything we did use we enjoyed a lot. Would highly recommend it. Truly is a four-season house.

We enjoyed our stay with cute decorations and the cozy vibes. Neighbor’s dogs were really cute too. Overall, really amazing memories for us :)

Great retreat to the mountains! Awesome property with a gorgeous kitchen. Very comfortable & the owners thought of everything to make it feel like home. We will be back!

Sabita went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and was extremely responsive to any issues that arose. She was extremely kind and accommodating and I have no doubt that if I had needed anything she would have been quick to make it happen. The house is adorable and attention to detail impeccable. The friends themed playroom is a great touch and we had everything we needed. We will be back!

Enjoyed every second of my stay! The cabin was beautiful, clean and cozy. The view was perfect every morning and sunset. The quiet and calmness of the location was needed. Paige was super responsive and helpful! I loved that the cabin came with lots of games, firewood and other essential items that made the stay even more comfortable. Would definitely book again!

Aaron was great about informing us about things and responding to our questions. The house was exactly what we wanted. We also had a blast playing pool, which was new to our young adult kids. It was a fabulous time and the only thing that could have made it better would have been if we’d been able to stay longer!
