I was transported back in time to my parents' farm in the Vumba and my aunt's house in Mutare. This is truly a gem and I would love to stay again. The cottage has been carefully maintained and has everything you need to enjoy a comfortable stay. The tin pool and outdoor shower were tops next to the magnificent night sky. Karin’s cottage is a gem, as is Fraserburg. We took the road less travelled on new years day, and arrived without supplies at our overnight stop, as all shops along our route was closed. Karin came to the rescue with firewood, fresh veg from their patch and a fancy bottle of wine! The house was lovely and we had the a great nights rest before hitting the road again. Hospitality like this isn’t found under every rock.

The renovation in 2020 has preserved its historic charm while introducing all the modern comforts you could need. The rooms are incredibly spacious, with high ceilings and tasteful decor that perfectly balances the old-world character with contemporary elegance. Every detail, from the cozy furnishings to the immaculate cleanliness, made us feel completely at home. The peaceful farm setting was the perfect escape from the bustle of everyday life. Waking up to breathtaking views of the Karoo landscape and the gentle sounds of nature was a highlight of our trip. The host's hospitality was unmatched—friendly, attentive, and full of great local recommendations. Whether you're seeking a serene retreat or a base for exploring the Karoo, this property is an absolute must. We can't wait to return!

Duck n Dive is exactly as described and more. We loved the location and being surrounded by the Karoo landscape.

Beautifully renovated and very spacious old farmhouse, we almost got lost among the many rooms. Extremely well equipped kitchen. Left nothing to be desired. Also loved the little honesty shelf shop with wine, olive oil and other essentials.

Debbie was a great host.that gave clear instructions. She upgraded our stay due to some storms in the area causing a power outage. Linen was soft and very cosy, even with it snowing outside. We had a lovely stay and will be back to explore Loxton properly.

An authentic karoo escape and setting! Leeuwivier was the perfect place for a peaceful, quite getaway for our family to restore our energy and enjoy nature. We made big fires, took walks, stared at (and slept under) the stars and cheersed beautiful sunsets! The children had a blast! Antonia and Hilmar will see us again.
