A scenic 15 minute walk from parking.

RnR Homestead is located right off the Parks Hwy just 24 miles north of Denali National Park. The small town of Healy with restaurants and a grocery store is a ten minute drive south on the highway. The 80-acre property is surrounded by giant spruce and birch trees with amazing views of the Nenana River valley and the outer Alaska Range. You know you’ve arrived when you see a gathering of gnomes at the driveway entrance! Tad and Andrea’s property is beautiful, quiet and peaceful. The space is its own little cottage, charming and quirky with everything we needed, very comfortable. It was a nice place to return to after a day in Denali NP.

Great getaway. It’s off the beaten path on a quiet, scenic bluff. Self check in was a breeze. The cabin was comfortable and private. Even though there were people in the cabin next door, we hardly knew they were there. Full AT&T cell service at the cabin. Our Ford Explorer had no difficulty getting up the driveway.

Denali Retreat - 2 Room Cabin

We spent 3 nights in this nice 2 room cabin number 6 on top of the hill. The parking lot was 50 yards away, reachable through a nice path through the birch wood. The drive from the highway towards the cabin is a steep and 3/4 miles long gravel road but thanks to our 4 wheel drive we could easily and slowly get up and down. The area around the cabin is absolutely beautiful and calm, the neighbor cabin being 50 yards away. You can even start your walking trail through the birch wood directly from the house. There is also a common area with a gas grill and another common area inside the main office site with tea/coffee/hot water and some puzzle games for rainy days. The Denali Park entrance is 30 minutes (23 miles) away. Kathy was very kind and helpful and immediately reacted on questions that we had.

We loved our stay at Kelsey's cabin — just as peaceful and picturesque as we'd hoped for... Wonderful waking up to a view of those snowy birch and spruce trees in our plush bed every morning, although the bunk bed next door seemed a little uncomfortable by comparison. The heating was super-efficient, and having a hot-water shower (even if a little cramped) in such a rustic environment felt like a luxury. The Thai hut a few miles down the road was worth the visit as well, for those times when we didn't feel like bringing a meal back from town. Excellent value overall!

The hosts are great! We got there very late at night, since we had drove for hours we missed the sign and had to sleep in the car for a bit, they came out in person very early morning and offered to upgrade our stay for the inconvenience although it was my fault for not reading the instructions properly. I really appreciate all they did and would definitely book again. Great people!

Mitchell and his wife Vicki were so incredibly gracious . They welcomed us into their home and made us feel like family . Mitchell made us breakfast every morning , told us to help ourselves to whatever we wanted . Lots of interesting stories . Just understand that you are in their home with them . Our room and bathroom were private and that was obviously our space but in the common areas ,when we were there , we shared that with them . May not be for everyone. But it worked great for our family . We had two queens in our bedroom.
