Shepherds hut vacation rentals in Forest of Dean

The pictures really don't do it justice. We had an amazing time and there's so much around the area to see, we've not even scratched the surface. We'll definitely be coming back.

My friend and I had a really enjoyable stay in the Gypsy bowtop Greta. We had a very friendly welcome and helpful show round on arrival. Greta was a perfect size for the two of us and spotlessly clean. The beds were so comfy - we slept so well! Loo and showers were a short walk from the caravan but no problems with needing to queue or anything. Shower was warm and powerful - amazing! We were here for the Hay festival and it was so nice being able to walk in everyday. Would definitely love to come back.

We loved our stay in the shepherd's hut... thanks Carol! The hut is gorgeous and in beautiful surroundings. We had everything we needed as it's set out really well. We enjoyed sitting out in the sunshine as well as being cosy with the lit log burner. It works well for all weathers. The bed was so comfortable and the shower was hot and powerful... perfect. We stayed to help set up and attend a wedding, just wish we could've stayed longer to take advantage of more walks and wild swimming... although we did manage to enjoy a walk to The Crown pub for a delicious meal before we left! We loved our stay on the shepherds hut, which looked and felt new, and was beautifully finished. Fantastic location, great for local walks (we walked to The Open Ditch pub) and amazing views from the bed & seating area. Very accommodating hosts, super helpful and responsive. Rosalind was an incredible host! The place was gorgeous and exactly how it was described. Everything was absolutely spotless in the hut and the bed was so comfortable. We had the best sleep ever. The three dogs were adorable and greeted us with cuddles. The farm was amazing and we were even fortunate enough to see a baby calf one hour after it was born! We couldn’t recommend it here any more and we will most definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay with our dog Riley. It was our first time taking him away as an anxious dog and the hut’s setting was perfect. We enjoyed the peaceful area, fire pit in the evening and the cosy fire in the hut. We appreciated the clear instructions prior to our stay. We found the hut had everything we needed for our short stay. We hope to return for a longer stay in the future. Thank you ☺️ ✨

Emily’s place was an ideal getaway, secluded, clean, peaceful the perfect place to unwind for a few days, the hot tub made it extra special, all communication with Emily was excellent, would definitely recommend, will definitely be returning, thank you Emily.

AMAZING stay in a nearby paradise. Everything you need to connect back to nature. Cosy and beautiful - would have stayed there forever if we could have!

A really pretty and cozy hut with all you need provided. We had a wonderful stay. The bed and bedding so comfy. The kitchen well stocked. The shower room impressive for the space. A fair few power lines that you can see in the pics, but we weren’t bothered by them. Loved it. The broadband was dodgy in the evenings, but 4g strong. And we weren’t there to watch tv so we didn’t mind at all. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much for a wonderful peaceful stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our staying at the hut. Despite the horrible weather, heavy rain and strong winds, we felt very safe and comfortable in the hut. We had a really nice meal in the pub nearby, and managed to visit a few popular locations. The hut was well designed and had everything you need.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our last minute stay here for our anniversary! We booked this stay the morning of the trip, and Laura accommodated amazing despite this. 10/10 would recommend, lovely private stay in a beautiful place. Absolutely loved our stay at Cross Oaks Shepherd hut, it’s such a beautiful location and we were really lucky with the weather! Highly recommend, Emma’s really friendly and helpful via the app, and has even offered to post my coat back to us after forgetting it🙈. We booked it because we had a stargazing experience with dark skies wales which was breathtaking but even just outside the hut the view was amazing, there’s no light pollution at all. The perfect getaway!!

Amazing - the perfect place to relax and escape from hectic everyday life. There is everything you need to have a perfectly relaxing break. The hut is immaculate and tastefully decorated. Private hot tub, secluded seating, the place has all you can want. We didn’t have internet but that was not an issue as could still watch the TV and enjoyed being away from the busyness of life - we could get reception when we needed. Nice pub a 15 mins (slightly muddy) walk and plenty of lovely places a short distance away. Would highly recommend and would find it hard to find fault.

Had an incredible time here. Views are insane. Such a private location despite the fact you can get into Bristol very swiftly. Neil treated us very well, with local treats inside when we arrived. Very cold during our stay so we didn’t use the hot tub, but it didn’t matter as the pod itself is heated very well with underfloor heating. Would definitely recommend booking if you’re looking for a nice relaxing break away. Also the sheep are very cute.

The hut was absolutely perfect! We really enjoyed our stay. Host's were extremely helpful, responsive and welcoming. The hut was exactly as described and was very cosy. The facilities in the hut were great and there were helpful instructions/guides on how to use things, the hosts also informed us that we could contact them should we have any problems. Host was there on arrival which was very welcoming and made us feel at ease with check-in, gave us a quick tour and explained the facilities etc. The location was peaceful and very pretty! Easily accessible. Beautiful stream next to the property. I would really recommend this property & hope to be back in the future! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

We had a fantastic stay at this Airbnb! The breakfast provided was amazing, with incredibly fresh and fluffy bread. The location was perfectly situated in the middle of the Cotswolds, making it easily accessible and convenient for exploring. The place itself was spotless, well-ventilated, and offered a peaceful atmosphere that made for a perfect getaway. We truly enjoyed the tranquility and comfort and would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a relaxing escape.

Our stay at Helen’s shepherd hut was amazing. The place was beautiful with an amazing view. We loved our stay and the area around it is definitely worth a visit.

I couldn't recommend Mark and Teresa's shepherd's hut enough! The stay was lovely, far exceeding any Airbnb experience I've ever had in the 11 years of using it. Mark and Teresa were extremely kind and welcoming and put pure love into building their accommodation and making you feel welcome. I will for sure be back and fully confident everyone will feel the same.

Fantastic stay, lots of local things to do & see. Was the perfect getaway for my partners birthday and the hosts were more than helpful with everything from checking in to finding places to eat. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

We stayed at Tom’s shepherd but in mid December and couldn’t believe how warm and toasty it was! The underfloor heating and the option of a wood burning stove was perfect. Beautiful setting, easy to find thanks to the directions Tom shared ahead of our stay. He even lent us an iron and ironing board which was kind!

What a beautiful spot! We had a lovely relaxing weekend in the hut! John is a very helpful and responsive host! Lovely hot tub and very cute hut. We loved our stay and would absolutely return! Thank you!
