We loved staying here. The house was quiet and in a gated community. We had everything we needed - plenty of pillows, blankets, etc. Kitchen was well equipped, and there was enough space for each of us to have our own space away from each other. Slightly further out from town, but that’s what we wanted. We chose this place because it seemed to have some typical Costa Rican charm! Would recommend!

So peaceful, incredible views! We loved being able to open the windows and have fresh air at night. We loved the hot tub. The home is beautifully designed, very comfortable and decorated and Ingrid is an excellent host. Definitely need a 4x4 in Sport mode to manage the short gravel road, but well worth it! About 20- 30 minutes to town. All a part of the adventure!

AMAZING. Such a beautiful and peaceful place, the view is WAY better in real, the room are big and clean with hot water, really a piece of paradise!!! The only thing to know, there is a breakfast for a great price available. Otherwise you need to think to buy some food to eat. It is not far away from the little town where you have a few restaurants (maybe 1-2?), a little convenient store and a place to get meat but it is a bumpy road to come back to get it, so think ahead and buy it before you get there!

We loved how close to town we were but still seemed private and secluded! The area was calm and quiet we loved having breakfast outside our cabin! The area surrounding was stunning the inside was spotless !!! We also met their friendly little kitten! We absolutely loved this little oasis! It was better than expected, so cute and spacious. The shower is a lovely addition and gives jungle vibes! The view of Arenall is perfect and the property was so clean and cozy. It was easy to find and check in. Jose was super responsive and such a pleasure. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend if you're staying in La Fortuna! Pura Vida! ✌🏼

Wow what an amazing view! Also an amazing garden full of hummingbirds and other lovely birds. Friendly horse that came to visit twice and reached its head over the fence. Neighbor Lilander gave us a picturesque horseback ride with a gorgeous jungle hike to a private waterfall. El Castillo is a remote, steep village. The bakery is terrific and the little market is super helpful. We enjoyed La Ventanita and Fusion for dinners. Anna and the other hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful. Thank you!!

We stayed at this cottage for the weekend with my family and the experience was just spectacular. The place is too nice, surrounded by nature and with one of the best views of the Central Valley we have seen. The cabin is very well equipped, all spotless and thoughtful down to the last detail. It breathes tranquility and feels a real connection to the environment. It is located very close to the Barva Volcano, which makes it ideal for those who enjoy the mountain and the fresh air. Definitely a place we want to go back to. 100% recommended!

We had a great stay at Oscar’s home. We were two families with teenagers and the home accommodated all 9 of us very comfortably. The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning worked very well. It was great to have a pool and we found it nice to come back to the great views in the country after a busy day of site seeing. We would definitely recommend this spot to others.

We could not have asked for better hosts for our first few nights in Costa Rica. Ivette and Javier greeted us with fresh coconuts on our arrival and showed us our accommodation and the property. We instantly felt right at home. They were gracious hosts, and provided us with some excellent restaurant recommendations and went as far as to book our reservations for us. Javier’s baked goods and fruit in the mornings were absolutely delicious. The space was clean and had everything we needed, and although the property is shared, it was quiet, peaceful, and absolutely stunning! We would love the opportunity to stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay! It's a nice, clean home with scenic views in an authentic, safe community. We bought a few basics for breakfast (eggs, queso blanco, milk, coffee, juice) at the nearby community mini-market (a few blocks away) so we could make breakfast at the place. If you want fresh fruits & veggies, you should stop at a bigger market on your way (La Fortuna? Or El Castillo?). We ate dinner twice at the nearby La Terraza restaurant, which was good. We loved the batidos de fruta (fruit smoothies/shakes - 'de leche' ('of milk') . My favorite is the batido de papaya (de leche). My kids also tried the strawberry, pineapple, maracuya (and I think others, too!). We enjoyed the dishes we had there, too. Internet at the house can be spotty, but there's some cell reception, too. If you're on vacation and just checking your email from time to time and researching things to do in the area, it's fine; if you're looking to be a digital nomad, this is probably not the place for you.

La Fortuna was everything we wanted it to be as was Maribel's place. We couldn't of asked for better hosts. Our house was very clean and cozy and just a short walk to town, which seemed to get more beautiful every time. Camilo was always immediatly responsive to our requests whether it was for essential needs, a ride to an excursion or an impromptu ride back to the house. He was also better than a tour guide teaching us the history of the town and and the people. We appreciated the convenience of a massage right there on the property, which was AMAZING! 100% recommend Maribel's place. We will be back!!

Tanyia & Rod were so wonderful! They were both so responsive and helpful. The house was perfect for a family of 4, and everything was comfortable. The location was great, and it was amazing to wake up to all the wildlife and scenery. There's a community pool in walking distance, and the club serves up an excellent breakfast (extra cost). I had Tanyia get us some groceries before we arrived, which was so helpful when you're traveling with kids. Restaurants and things to do are very close. Just make sure you use Google Maps! Thank you both for an excellent experience :)

Very beautiful place and property! The views are stunning everywhere you look. If you are looking for a peaceful, remote stay, this is it! Given its remoteness and surrounding road conditions, highly recommend a 4x4 and comfortable vehicle, along with groceries for a couple days. Diego + Christina were very responsive and provided great suggestions of things to do and see around the area and property. Don’t snooze on horseback riding with Hilario right on the property - it’s amazing and the views are very beautiful!

We had an amazing stay at La Macadamia! The house had everything we needed to cook all our meals, making it feel like a true home away from home. The space was private, safe, and very comfortable. Guillermo was a fantastic host and gave us an excellent recommendation for a cloud forest tour. The tour guides knowledge and experience made all the difference—he knew exactly when to pause and when to move on for the best chance to see the famous Quetzal, and it paid off! One of the highlights was the local wildlife—Agoutis were always wandering around the neighborhood, so cute and easy to spot. My son especially loved the trampoline and made sure to start every morning with some jumping! Monteverde is a special place, and La Macadamia was the perfect base to experience it. Highly recommend!

Cute and humble home with BEAUTIFUL views. Lots of beds in the rooms. One of the rooms has AC unit and does well cooling the home. Hosts are so kind and helpful. Ask about tours too, we toured with Daniel and he was GREAT! Definitely need a car or hire transport, home is in a little remote area but that allows for such beautiful views of the volcano. I’d definitely stay again
