NEW Peace and Rest on the lake

We had a great time! The home is large, lovely and well-stocked with everything, even the perfect amount of toys! This was a good place for an extended family gathering. (The little ones also enjoyed the small playground.) The little bay the home is on is very peaceful; it's nice for kayaking. There is a nearby boat launch, which allowed us to use the home's dock for our boat and easily go out onto the larger part of the lake to fish. We also very much appreciated Jonathan and Jenny's minimal cleaning and checkout rules. Some Airbnb places have ridiculous requirements. Jonathan and Jenny were very prompt in their responses to our messages.

The house was beautiful and had everything we needed for our multi-generational family stay! I absolutely loved the decor and furnishings...clean, updated and still cozy! The neighborhood was quiet and safe although somewhat off the beaten path (definitely not a complaint, just something to keep in mind when booking a stay in Minneapolis).

We really enjoyed our stay at the squirrel. We were a large party and there was plenty of room to spread out as well as having privacy. Justin's home was warm and inviting, very comfortable especially with Minnesota winter winds whipping around outside. We enjoyed the hot tub and the many games provided. The kitchen was stocked well with coffee and tea as well as condiments, pots, pans and really everything needed. It was a pleasure to use the updated appliances available. The washer & dryer allowed us to pack lightly. We'd love to visit again in the summer and enjoy the backyard games and grills. The turquoise squirrel really is a gem!

We stayed for an extended Super Bowl/birthday weekend and had a great time. Super responsive to messages when there was a very small issue and checked in multiple times to make sure all was well. We would love to go back in summer. Very efficient space for a large group and the new hot tub was a hit with everyone in our party. Thank you!

Shout out to Jo and Chris amazing host and their home is always cleaned very nicely and the bed sheets smell amazing it’s hard to find someone that really takes pride in cleaning their home. We will continue to stay here if available we just hope it’s not rented. Thanks again Jo and Chris y’all are great!!!

Kyle and Tara were wonderful hosts! They were very accommodating, attentive and welcoming!! We were able to host thanksgiving for my family with ease and had everything we needed to prepare the meal. I used the cottage as a workplace while needing to be near the little town of Waconia. Imagine that this rental is incredible from spring through fall. Plenty to do around the area in winter as well. Bed is super comfortable. Will probably rent again for my next work assignment there.

Perfect cabin for a couples getaway. There is a beautiful view of the lake and the cabin was recently remodeled, so everything feels brand new. It was spotless. Close to the cute town of Annandale with a brewery, little shops, and restaurants. We wouldn't hesitate to return, thanks for having us!

This is a steal of a deal for a nice weekend cabin trip with friends! We had a a large group and there was more than enough space for us to hang out together or split off and all do our own things as we relaxed on a lazy day inside during some storms. The kitchen is very well stocked for all your cooking needs, plenty of extra towels and toiletries, extra bedding, fantastic hotel level beds, and ample cleaning supplies if you need it! Will definitely stay again if I'm planning something with a similarly sized group.

This place on the river was amazing for our large party! Plenty of bathrooms and room to relax and spread out. We also loved cooking in the kitchen and relaxing in the hot tub! We’re already planning our next trip where we can spend more time on the river!

Gorgeous home! The view was breathtaking! waking up to a view of the beautiful Mississippi, there really is not anything much better than that! Was so peaceful. Definitely a more comfortable stay with fewer people. Sharon was a GREAT host! She shared information and detail before I would have to ask and was very proactive. She was also so flexible and kind. Highly recommend this host and location!

We had a wonderful stay! We felt right at home. Everything was clean, well stocked and easy to find. The little details, like the s’mores kit and firewood, put this place over the top! The location was perfect and very close to downtown excelsior and surrounding areas. The home was inviting, comfortable and updated. It felt cozy and had amenities to meet all our needs. We loved the private backyard and wish the weather would have been better to enjoy the outdoor fire pit. I highly recommend Jim and Lisa’s home and hope to be back next time we visit the area.

I wish I could give 10 stars. Super clean and fresh, plenty of towels, comfortable beds, plenty of available places to store our things, several outdoor seating spaces, beautiful view. A couple of minor issues that needed attention were handled and fixed right away. Questions were answered quickly. Our group was several adults and there were plenty of spaces so we could either be on our own or together. An amazing week and we’ve booked for next year.
