Waterfront vacation rentals in Dover Beach

My husband and I stayed 5 days at Lisa’s property while in Barbados celebrating my birthday. Lisa is very sweet upon arrival Lisa left me a card to say Happy Birthday with a bottle of rum punch! ( THANK YOU!)The property has a beautiful ocean view I spent most of my mornings on the balcony listening to the ocean. It has everything a person would need to feel at home. The air conditioner worked perfectly fine . It’s right next to a fishing village which my husband made friends and spent time hanging out there. The other guest in the apartment complex were very friendly and from what I was told are long term tenants when visiting Barbados. I will say a car is needed to get around which we hired a rental car service. Lisa keeps up with her property and it’s a very beautiful place to stay.

Kerry was AMAZING! She was super helpful with getting a car seat for my son before we got there. She welcomed us with a welcome package my favorite part was the rum! Her home was so homey and clean. The house keeper Sasha was nice and the groundskeeper Joe was all so helpful. The area was beautiful. Waking up with a beautiful view for breakfast was amazing. We didn’t need for anything, literally everything was provided. I can’t say anything bad about my experience.

Lovely 2 bedroom/2 bath unit within the Glitter Bay property. The unit is under new ownership since we stayed there in March 2019 and its been completely and very well renovated since our last visit. White floors and comfy white living room and patio furniture, well equipped kitchen, nice bathrooms, good washer and dryer — everything felt and looked clean and well maintained. Only downside is that there is only one tv in the unit, in the living room; with older children traveling with us, it would have been nice if the bedrooms had televisions and the one in the living room had been a bit bigger. The unit has a nice view of the property and a peak of the ocean from the wonderful enormous covered terrace. There was housekeeping everyday but Sundays and they did an excellent job. For those who haven’t stayed at Glitter Bay before, the property is on one end of a lovely 1/2 mile white crescent beach with relatively calm waters — think snorkeling vs. boogie boarding. Lots of water activities (jet skis, sailing, kayaking) are easily available or can be arranged at the Fairmont. A small bar/restaurant is on site during the day and there is a beach attendant who provides beach/pool towels and, with your input, assigns you lounge chairs for your stay so there is no need to run down to the beach early in the day to put your stuff on beach chairs to “reserve” them; there are also plenty of umbrellas at the beach to provide shade during the heat to the day. For those who like swimming pools, there is a good sized pool for laps and kids to play in as well as a nice kiddie pool. Next door is the very high end Fairmont Royal Pavilion. While not cheap, they have a good restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner which overlooks the ocean. Farther down the beach is the Lonestar Hotel and Restaurant. It also serves a lovely breakfast, lunch and dinner by the beach but is a bit fancier than the restaurant at the Fairmont and quite pricy. It is easy to walk about a mile or take the public bus/drive/taxi into Holetown. There is a very well stocked Massey’s Supermarket, for those who need supplies and/or want to cook while staying at Glitter Bay, as well as a liquor store. Limegrove shopping center has a number of upscale show and restaurants. Good restaurants in Holetown include Nishi, The Mews, and Fusion Rooftop, with Paul Owen’s Beach House just outside of town. The area around Glitter Bay is relatively low density and low key compared to the areas closer to Bridgetown or Oistens. We really love it and hope to go back to Barbados and stay at Glitter Bay #207 again next year.

we had a very enjoyable stay at this fantastic apartment. The Manager, Allison made sure everything went to plan. she arranged for the airport pickup, a Hire car,and made our stay as comfortable as possible. Two fabulous pools which were cleaned daily by Patrick. sunbeds always available due to the pool rules in place. a gym,and a beautiful quite beach a few steps away. turtles visit during the night and lay their eggs. Jonny cool 's Jazz and blues beach cafe a short walk away. we found some good restaurants in St. lawerance gap which is a 10 minute walk from the appartment. Harlequin was one of the best. followed by Mimosa. the most expensive and least enjoyable was the primo & Bistro restaurant. we would definitely recommend this appartment hosted by Anthony. Ty

We had a lovely time at this lovely Bathsheba apartment. A refreshing and spirit-soothing holiday was just what the doctor ordered and we found it here. Thank you Gene Marva for your kind hospitality and for sharing your home with us....it was truly magical.

We loved this tastefully decorated and restful Villa and have already booked it for next year. Chanel and her team were so helpful, proactive and caring. She even came to our rescue when our flight was cancelled and we needed to extend the stay. Pool was lovely and quiet and the people we met around Schooner Bay were very friendly. Can’t wait to come back!

Had a great stay at Justin’s place. I knew it was close to St Lawrence Gap but I didn’t realize it’s literally right outside your door. The PERFECT location if you plan to go out at night . Bars, restaurants and more steps from your door. The place itself was very clean, spacious and well stocked with everything you needed plus more like beach towels, blow up beds and kitchen accessories. My favorite part was the balcony. By far worth staying here alone, the views and waking up to the sound of the ocean was unmatched . The balcony was very spacious with lounge chairs and I spent most of my days out there. Checking in and out was very easy and Justin responded quickly to any question we had . I appreciated the AC since it was so hot and many area Airbnbs did not offer AC The area was very safe with security patrolling at night Easily accessible to taxis on the street or public bus/vans just up the street The only downside was the bar noise/music at night but it wasn’t unbearable

Todd's co-host Barbara couldnt have been more welcoming or helpful. Any queries were dealt with promptly, and we were given loads of helpful advice on best places to go, and shops to visit for wants and needs.

Lex is a great host. The location and view are unbeatable. You can walk to the grocery store and cook with a fully furnished kitchen, or you can walk to several restaurants including Oiston’s fish fry. Driving is easy and convenient if you rent a car…tight turns to get in and out of the driveway but the drivers are actually friendly and helpful in Barbados. The only downsides are the beach is a little rocky from knee to waist deep, but you can walk less than 5min north for a better swimming / boogie boarding beach. And AC is only in the bedrooms, but you get an outstanding Caribbean breeze through the common areas.

Perfect location for us as we snorkel a lot and the beach is the beach you need to use on the island. The balcony, well we lived out there and when you see the views you will agree, its private and secure and you cant beat the location. You park on the grass in front of the house and with care you can pull on and off with ease. You can walk to The View and the Reggie restaurants as well as Thunder Bay, were we spent our previous visit. You must go to Simone's for her mothers Jerk chicken and rice and peas.. OMG its finger licking good.

Our family enjoyed everything about this little Gem .. in particular our grandson who did not want to leave .. our beachhouse except to surf just outside the gate!! Was a perfect getaway .. big thanks to Chloe 👍🙌

We loved the property and the location is absolutely breathtaking. You are waterfront with the most amazing views. Ruth was so accommodating and so super sweet as we landed very late, where no stores were open, she was kind enough to do some light grocery shopping for us to make sure that we had breakfast the next morning. Our family loved it!!! Looking forward to rebooking next!!

The location is perfect as it is equidistant from the south coast which is more "happening" and the limegrove area which is more trendy and upmarket. The home was private, on the beach so you can literally walk out the door. The view of the sunset is spectacular. We really enjoyed our stay at Chris's place. He also offered an earlier check in time as we landed earlier which was much appreciated.

My first visit to Barbados. Perfect place to stay, awesome hosts

Stayed in this very comfortable and pristine clean property for 9 nights. Ruth and Kyle are great and responsible hosts and on the couple of times we contacted them (once about the Safe and the other because we lost the Beach Club entrance card), they responded very quickly and graciously too. Blue Door is situated about 50 paces from the beach and 5 minutes walk from a supermarket and many restaurants. There was some noise coming from a nearby bar for a couple of nights during our stay, but it wasn’t awful. The property is conveniently situated in the middle of Holetown so great for getting anywhere. Added bonus was the complimentary access to a lovely clean pristine pool, about 10 minutes walk from the property. We loved staying there and felt very relaxed immediately. Well furnished and very comfortable beds. Fabulous bathrooms and a well appointed Kitchen too. We will definitely return here.

We loved our stay at Alicia and Mark’s place. It was very well appointed with lots of closet space, extra towels and linens, and even many kitchen items left by previous guests (foil wrap, teas, plastic wrap, dish soap, etc.). And beach towels and chairs. The beds were comfy. AC in the befrooms made sleeping very comfortable. Nice deck to sit out on and enjoy watching the birds with coffee. The bus stop wasn’t too far away but we rented a car to be able to explore at our own pace. I highly recommend this Airbnb. Host is very friendly and responsive too !

Lovely accommodation in a great location for St Lawrence Gap. Becky was brilliant with information and communication. Would definitely recommend and look to book again in the future!

Best location. Simple to access. Host was very easy to communicate and willing to help with anything including restaurants. Easily catch a taxi, bus or rent a car. Pool and small beach was a perk for days you decide to stay in. Place was tidy, lots of room, great views of ocean and pool area. Everything that we needed was there.

We had a great stay at Peter’s place. Amazing location on a beautiful beach. The house was perfect for 5 adults and a kid. Peter was very helpful and attentive to anything we needed. We would definitely stay there again in the future.

Welcomed by local management of the condo who showed us around the place, talked through some local amenities and showed us the helpful documents on hand. The condo was extremely well laid out and the kitchen was well stocked, you felt right at home straight away. The condo is right amongst lots to do in The Gap with direct access to a private beach. We loved our stay and can highly recommend a stay at Janet's place.

We love this place. Perfect location with stunning views, local amenities and ideal to explore the island. The accommodation is like home from home with a very comfortable living and dining area, massive bathrooms with comfy beds and spacious en suite bathrooms, sun-all-day balcony. We love it and can't wait to come back.
