Large kitchen, 6 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, 2 living room area spaces one in the loft with ping pong. A large front porch with swing and patio with dining and seating with a view. Lake Effect is a modern Lakefront home on beautiful Norris Lake. This vacation home offers many amenities including a large lake front dock, hot tub, pool table and fire pit. There is also a gentle slope to the lake, No Steps!! Or you can use the graveled driveway that takes you right to the dock. Not too many homes on Norris Lake have such easy access to the lake. This is our home away from home and if you decide to stay at Lake Effect, we hope you love it as much as we do.

The house is beautiful. Plenty of room on the first floor for family to gather. Our group was 13 people from the age of five to 70 and 3 dogs. We didn’t feel crowded. Enough space to cook and eat together, play games and watch movies. Joshua was very responsive to questions and our needs. The town is very small and many local businesses close during the holidays. Overall it was a lovely place to stay.

Our visit was fantastic. Check in was very straightforward and the building was clean and kitchen well stocked with everything we need for cooking. Private dock is an easy walk down a small hill, much more convenient then other homes on the lake. Nearby marinas and restaurants were a blast and everyone in our group enjoyed our stay. Would love to stay at this home again in the future.

The house was beautiful, pictures don’t do it justice. They have every utensil you can image for cooking and the kitchen looks brand new. Driveway is narrow but two full size pickups fit. The view is amazing. Great place to sit and just look at the lake, very peaceful. The deck is very private and the grill had a back up tank. The dock was super nice. We rented a boat from about 8 minutes up the road and had some where to park for lunch. The diving board was great for swimming and just over all a very nice home. The room with bunk beds was the only complaint my group had. The mattresses were super thin and you could feel every piece of metal. The beds all squeak anytime someone rolled over so no one slept well in there. Over all, a beautiful, clean home with an even better view! Will 100 percent go back.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Heron’s Hideout, and it was an unforgettable experience! This charming, modern cabin offers breathtaking views of rolling hills and the serene Norris Lake. The scenery alone makes it worth the stay — relaxing on the porch and watching the sunset was beautiful. The cabin is wonderfully cozy and well-planned, with every detail carefully thought out for comfort convenience. The layout is open and spacious, and the large windows allow you to enjoy the great views. The wood upstairs had a lot of charm, while modern amenities and an ultra-modern downstairs ensure a comfortable and fun stay. I had never been in a house with so many TVs! The host was also very welcoming and gave helpful recommendations for things to do in the area. It was clear they genuinely care about their guests having a memorable stay. I highly recommend Heron’s Hideout for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with stunning views and a cozy atmosphere. It’s a hidden gem!

Very nice quiet place to relax, beautiful scenery outside. The furniture and bed was very comfortable. There are a couple of very unique fun things in the house that we chuckled at and thought was cool, some being the bear toilet paper holder and the shot gun plunger with a saying on it. The house is decorated for a get away in the woods but not overdone and interesting items. The grill is newer or in great shape and generate more than enough heat and flame. Bring matches or a lighter as the igniter did not work, it was missing a battery. You'll also need to bring coffee filters their is a nice maker there but no filters. Great place to stay and enjoy being in the woods and relaxing.

Tom’s place was great, lots of space for our large family! The steps in the house may be a challenge for your older guests so be cautious of that and don’t forget to bring extra towels for the hot tub/lake!! Overall we loved this place and would come back!
