Vacation rentals in Chiang Dao

Bougain Villas are in a large farmland area with animals grazing in fields adjacent. They overlook Chiang Dao mountain (when the mist allows 🙂), and another resort called Mountain View, which occasionally had music, though didn’t go on late. We were upstairs in No.5, and the room was very clean, tidy and comfortable - with free coffee pods, bottled water and noodle pots… a nice touch. We had a good size fridge, kettle, Nespresso style coffee m/c, dehumidifier, and mosquito nets around the bed - excellent. Any time we had issues, Aude was instantly available which made the stay even better - for instance, we had a bad ingress of ants nesting in the bathroom one night (fact of life in jungle), and she was round in an instant dealing with it. Externally, the shrubs and vines could probably do with a trim back (some of that was happening), as the villas are quite enveloped nowadays - but that’s only slight drawback we could see. Overall, a lovely place, well worth the money… thanks.

I’ve had a wonderful experience staying here. The hosts are very friendly, they’ve helped me a lot driving me to shambhala. The breakfast is very good. The room is comfortable, the view is fantastic.

I was expecting minimal facilities since it’s a standalone building in the countryside, more like a mountain lodge. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the bathroom was, the absence of bugs, and the excellent bedding. It exceeded all my expectations. Breakfast options included American and Thai styles, and they even recommended nearby restaurants for dining. The view was breathtaking, and every photo came out beautifully. Spotting the four cats wandering around the property added a small but delightful joy to the stay. I recommend planning your trips and driving before sunset as it can be challenging to drive after dark. When we were leaving, they bowed with hands clasped in a wai to send us off, which truly surprised me. Meeting such polite and kind hosts made the trip even more fulfilling. Thank you for providing such a wonderful place to stay.

Probably the most peaceful two days I’ve had in a long time. The food was really good, you can either eat it in your room or at the restaurant. The views are sublime and the hosts are so nice.

Moo was the best host ever! He picked us up from the bus station and told us a lot about the village and Thailand on the way to the property. The accommodation itself is simple but completely according to the price and also completely sufficient. There's even a mosquito net. The house is the last one in the street and has a terrace where you can chill and eat, with a uniquely beautiful view of the mountains. Moo offered to drive us to various activities and showed us hidden gems of the area. He also made us a very tasty breakfast every time. All in all, definitely a great recommendation for anyone who wants to explore the nature and caves of Chiang Dao for a few days. We would always come back!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The view is stunning, I enjoyed my morning meditation practices out in the rice fields. The host is one of the friendliest, most accommodating, helpful people I’ve ever met. Room is modern, bed is comfortable with clean sheets every day.

We loved everything about our stay in the peaceful treehouse. We were upgraded on arrival to the private treehouse which was amazing and so kind of them. We had a private guide (Mr Art) for the whole trip who was amazing, he really looked after us and couldn’t do enough for us. He took us on a jungle trek and to the temples, hot springs etc. We mentioned we wanted to try a specific Northern curry to him and the kitchen made it for us on the final night! Everything felt so special. Just be mindful you are in the middle of the jungle so bugs are to be expected, there were quite a few ants in our accommodation so if you don’t like that kind of thing then maybe this isn’t the stay for you! Facilities are also quite basic but it’s a wonderful back to nature experience. We also had a Thai massage in the evening which was so amazing whilst listening to the sounds of the jungle.
