Beautiful Townhouse in Historic Center, Getsemaní

Enjoy this colorful house located in one of the most beautiful streets in Getsemaní. Feel like a local and walk to all the sights Cartagena has to offer. Whitewashed walls, polished-concrete floors, soaring ceilings, cheerful original art, and lush plants lend colonial styling to this light, bright house. Walk through the courtyard and let the cheerful blue tiles and tropical palms set the scene. The house is well equipped with fast wifi, AC in every room and living room/kitchen and hot water. Please note there’s no washing machine but there’s a laundry place nearby and they also do delivery. Casa Francisco is the perfect base to explore Cartagena, it's very spacious and cozy, with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an open kitchen and a charming patio. Located in Getsemaní, one of the most vibrant neighborhoods of the historic center, with many restaurants and bars to choose from. The walled city just steps away, famous Café Havana 2 min walk, Convention center 5 min walk, port to go to the islands and playa blanca 10min walk. Every room has A/C and wifi, including living room and kitchen. There is also a TV and a ceiling fan in each room. The living room also has a TV with cable and amazon fire tv (netflix access) There are two bathrooms, one in the master bedroom and the other one in the patio next to the bedroom #2 Master bedroom has a double bed, room #2 has a doube bed and bedroom #3 has two single beds. Guests will have the entire house for themselves. I host this house with the help of my sisters Maria and Lucía. We are available by text or email should you have any questions before and during your stay. We will greet guests personally and provide you with recommendations about the city. It’s a very lively neighborhood and we love it. And although our street is laid back most of the time, and the house has sound proof windows installed, the galleries and hotels around us do like to play music during the day, so if you prefer silence then this is not the place for you. Explore the hip, historic neighborhood of Getsemaní with its colorful houses and street art. There are great art galleries, bars, restaurants, and cafes like the famous Cafe Havana. Plaza de la Trinidad and the Walled City are a short walk away. The house is located within walking distance of almost everywhere you would want to go during your stay in Cartagena. If you want to go outside the historic center I would recommend a taxi or uber. We offer a free cleaning day for stays longer than 4 nights. If you want daily cleaning we can do it for an extra fee. We provide fresh towels upon request.

Monica’s place is GORGEOUS and very clean. She was responsive and extremely friendly. The house is surrounded by restaurants, bars, and the party atmosphere of Getsemaní, but is somehow still quiet. There is occasional street noise from people passing by outside, but it isn’t constant. We felt incredibly safe in the area. The rooms have cold AC, but the interior of the house is open, so it does get warm in the courtyard. There are tight spiral staircases that would make it very difficult to bring large suitcases upstairs to the bedrooms, and may also pose issues for anyone with mobility issues. This was my first trip to Colombia, but I’ll definitely be back and wouldn’t want to stay anywhere but at Monica’s. The house really felt like “home” during my 10-day stay!

The place is just as in the photos, Juan José's service was great and his recommendations were appropriate; Mrs. Flor's service and food was 10 out of 10, by far the best part of the stay, having a practically private beach is the best! It's far from town, but they provide you with contacts to get around more easily! Definitely highly recommended

My friends and I really enjoyed this place. They allowed us to check-in early with no issues. The place was clean and the pool was really worth it. If you ever stayed in Cartagena, having a pool is a MUST. The location was great, walking distance to a few restaurants, just a short drive to Old City. The staff was very helpful. Another bonus when you need assistance. I definitely recommend this place.

We loved staying here. The location was ideal for access to many of the nearby attractions while also being in a safe and quiet area at night. The local restaurants were fantastic and the neighborhood was friendly while also feeling like you’re getting the local experience in Cartagena. The rooms were clean, the AC worked very well in the rooms, and the host was very responsive if we needed anything. We would definitely stay here again and recommend others to stay here as well.

We truly enjoyed our short stay at Casa Monaco. The house is as central and convenient of a location as you can get. Beds are comfortable, staff is friendly. I was surprised at how peaceful and quiet it was at night. You can see a little wear and tear here and there, but in my opinion that is to be expected in an older home and with the heat and humidity. If anything it only adds to the charm of the home. Beautiful decor. Thank you Nicholas !

Absolutely perfect stay! The location couldn’t have been better — the main plaza is literally right outside the door, so you’re in the heart of Cartagena. We arranged transportation with Ana, and Jorge was there to greet us at the airport. From the moment we arrived, he made sure we were safe, comfortable, and well taken care of. Jorge went above and beyond — he personally walked us to get SIM cards, showed us around town, and made sure we were enjoying every moment of our trip. His hospitality is truly unmatched. It felt like we had a personal guide and friend in Cartagena! Leddy was also incredible — she came in on her day off to cook us a delicious breakfast of empanadas and eggs. Such a thoughtful touch that made us feel so welcomed and at home. If you stay here, definitely request Jorge. He made our experience 100x better, and we’re so grateful for everything he did. Highly recommend this place — and Jorge — to anyone visiting Cartagena! You won’t regret it.
