Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Canterbury Region

This was my second time at the cabin, just as peaceful as the first! Gorgeous spot in Banks Peninsula, great access to two amazing tracks (on the same road as the cabin!). This time I did monument track south, over to Rod Donald hut - 5 hour round trip, absolute perfection! Thank you for the breakfast provisions, perfect hiking preparation!

We made a huge mistake when only booking this place for part of our stay. My thought was to jump around the South Island with my family at a couple stops. Had I known it was this awesome, then I would’ve booked our whole time at Anna’s. This place is exactly what my family loves. The kids will definitely be complaining about where we stay next. This property is AWESOME.

We enjoyed staying in William's house. It was spacious, comfortable and had a great view over Lyttelton Harbour It was well located for walks and shops/ cafes

Only stayed at this Airbnb as a stop over so we had somewhere to rest in between our drives, but regretted we didn’t book longer! Really nice property with so much space. Felt a little bit big for only 2 of us but honestly was so nice to have the whole place to ourselves as it was really peaceful. Loved that we had a selection of movies to choose from, and books and board games. Plus the fire place being ready to go when we got there was a bonus as it heated up the house instantly. Thanks for having us for our short stay, will definitely be back!

Absolutely loved our stay here. Would love to visit again. Drew and Sally are very friendly and their place had everything we needed and more. A well stocked kitchen, plenty of toys for our daughter, farm fresh eggs for breakfast, couldn't ask for more. The cottage is very spacious and cozy. It's a very comfortable space for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and noise of city life.

I can not rate this house more highly. It is so peaceful, with the most incredible views out every window! There was nothing better than waking up and looking out the window to the mountain range, and that evening having an incredible hot spa heated by a log fire. The house is rustic, with ever piece of furniture quirky and well chosen for the space. The bathrooms were spotless and the fire was lit ready for us when we arrived which we really appreciated. The beach is so close by, listening to the waves was my favourite thing. As a family, we absolutely adored our stay here.

Denissa has put together a lovely home tucked away by the beach in Purau! While we were only there for a weekend, we found the guidebook to be super interesting :) We were blown away by how cozy the living room was at night with the fireplace lit, and the spa pool under the stars really is the cherry on top. Would definitely stay again!

Very modern and clean apartment with everything you need. John was also very responsive with my queries :) Convenient area with restaurants, eateries and supermarkets within 10 minutes walk or 5 minutes by car. Enjoyed our stay here and will definitely come back again

Perfect place to stay in Christchurch CBD. Great location, being in the city but still feels private as the unit is away from the road. Very clean and tidy, and had everything you’d need. Such a lovely spot and this will be our first pick when visiting Christchurch again.

We had a wonderful time at Denise and Regs place and they made us very welcome. Wonderful spot, beautiful garden and great trail path which was such fun to explore. Accommodation was perfect and all we wanted and would have love to stay longer. Loved the local area so picturesque and beautiful

This is an absolute gem of a place. The place is beautiful and the view is incredible. Julie and Gareth are really friendly and provisions were both generous and delicious. We will be absolutely returning

The house is superb! Near town centre. The inside is also incredible. Very clean and well designed. Netflix works well. Also basic cooking stuffs provided. Highly recommend it.

We really enjoyed our long weekend staying here experiencing a different part of Christchurch. We walked to Lyttelton market from Cass Bay, walked a section of the Crater Rim walkway and did some biking. The accommodation was very comfortable, clean and spacious with stunning views.

Awesome place to stay. Warm and comfortable and quirky. Shower pressure was great and you can open up the top to look at the stars at night. Very clean and has everything you need to eat in, but great restaurant right next door and cafe 100m down the road. Will definitely come stay again.

It was a great start to our family vacation in NZ. Amy’s place is cosy, clean and comfortable. Beds are comfy and with hotel quality linen…plus bakery and coffee shop downstairs, it definitely helps to start the day on the right foot. It is also located opposite Holey Moley - the mini -golf venue. We had so much fun with our 8 yo boy there:-) Thank you for a lovely stay, Amy. We also appreciate you allowed us to check in early in the morning on this occasion.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Susan’s! The house was spacious and adequately equipped. It was also very well located as it’s a very short drive and probably about 10-15min walk to the central city! Susan was also a great host — she’s very quick to respond to our queries, gave clear and easy instructions for checking in/out, and overall made our stay very enjoyable!

Really handy location and easy walking distance into the CBD. The garden/outdoor area could use a bit of a spruce up to make it useable but the place was otherwise was great and fulfilled our needs 😊

I have stayed a few times now, such a great location. Unit is peaceful and very clean with everything you need. The shower fix is great and has totally sorted that issue with no water running on to bathroom floor now. Will definately stay again.

Great wee apartment next to Otamatata pub. Perfect for a work trip. Spacious and well looked after. Great value

This is an absolute gem of an Airbnb, beautifully decorated has everything you need, and a five minute walk to the city. Everything is super convenient and Lily, our host, was quick to respond and patient. I will definitely come back!
