Family-friendly vacation rentals in Candlewood Lake

Michael and Enrique were excellent hosts, and left me and my girlfriends ice cream in the freezer to enjoy! They responded quickly when we had any questions. The view from the hottub looking out onto the woods is beautiful and the hottub was just what we needed to relax. A beautiful, cozy getaway, and so close to Rhinebeck!

Had a beautiful long weekend at the Bali house and would definitely stay again. Check in was easy and everything was as stated in the listing. Kitchen is very well appointed. We cooked a Christmas dinner for the family. Hot tub was wonderful on a winter evening.

Paula and her place are absolute gems. Communicating with her felt like talking to a friend whose place I was going to be staying at, and it felt like that when we arrived as well. I loved the art and thoughtful touches in each room, and our large group felt cozy yet everyone had their own privacy. The space is actually much larger and more beautiful than the photos even convey! The private trails were stunning and magical— I walked barefoot on the carpet-like moss covered forest paths leading to a Stonehenge-esque clearing with giant boulders. The deck and outdoor space is lovely and has stunning views. So peaceful and quiet with some surprise owl and hawk sightings.

I went for my boyfriends 25th birthday it was absolutely stunning from all of the art everywhere in the house and outside! We stayed in the sauna from when we got there till late at night it was an absolutely wonderful experience even just for a night!

This is a beautiful place and exactly what my wife and I needed for a long weekend away! The barn is so cozy and we felt right at home . The hot tub was a nice treat on the cool evenings and the beautiful view. But by far the best part was the animals living below us that we could give snacks to throughout the day and see through the living space windows. Would definitely recommend this to anyone that loves horses and donkeys!

What a gorgeous stay. My partner and I celebrated our five year anniversary here and each detail was perfect. The home is wonderfully curated, with stunning art, decor, puzzles, plates, you name it! And by the window, the feeders attract all kinds of birds that I’ve never seen so up close. Woodpeckers, cardinals, chickadees. You hardly need the TV, it’s so entertaining. The place is spotless and serene. And Rosy is so responsive while giving you complete privacy! You can tell she really cares about the experience she provides. If you’re looking to stay in an artfully cozy home, this is the place.

We enjoyed a beautiful early spring stay on the farm with a group of 7 ladies, gathering for a chill bachelorette weekend in Cold Springs. The farmhouse was super cozy; great for cooking, crafting, games, tea time, outdoor wine picnics, star gazing at night in the hot tub and making friends with the chickens! A great retreat spot for groups with all the amenities!

This is at least our 4th time staying at what we call "The Farm" and it is our favorite getaway! We even got my brother to drive 1.5 hours out of his way on his family trip to Boston so he could check it out. A rare gem!

Mahmoud's accommodation was more than we could have wished for, it was perfect and had the most incredible views of the Hudson River and surrounding mountains. Mahmoud was very responsive and was able to answer all of our questions and fulfill our requests. We highly recommend his home to anyone else that's interested and we would love to make a trip back sometime in the future!

Comfortable and clean with beautiful scenery - on clear days, you get a Mountain view across the lake! Highly recommend.

My daughter and I loved our stay so much. The setting is so beautiful and peaceful. I loved listening to all the bird song and my daughter loved the fish! Such a cozy, comfortable home. We loved our relaxing time here. Gabriele is a fabulous host, so responsive and so kind. Thank you!!

This was our second time staying at Jon’s lovely cabin. We love being in the woods, strolling by the stream and enjoying the fireplace ambiance. Wonderful place with lots of character. We hope to make this a yearly trip.

Linda’s home is absolutely beautiful and unreal! First of all, it was extremely clean with great smelling sheets. Her home had everything you needed from coffee, seasonings, first aid kit, and even marshmallows to roast. My family and I had a bbq as well and Linda had a lot of cookware. We had sooo much space to walk and go on a hike right off the property. There is a little stream of water that connects to the pond which my little 4 year old loved. The horses were a lovely addition and we loved hearing the rooster during the day. We will certainly be returning because a weekend was too short to explore everything. I highly recommend! Our stay in the Fairfield University area was absolutely delightful! The home was cozy, impeccably clean, and filled with thoughtful touches that made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The location was perfect, close to family and friends yet wonderfully quiet and peaceful. Bill & Lois went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, I especially enjoyed the chocolates (shhh) just don’t tell my cardiologist. Sheila loved the ceramic dish. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and look forward to returning. Thank you

We had an amazing stay at Sally’s place in Bethel! My fiancé and I visited CT for the first time to celebrate my birthday and go to a convention nearby. This cottage was perfect for the two of us. The host was very responsive and accommodating as well! The cottage was in pristine condition, the house manual was very easy to follow, the recommendations were great, the scenery was out of a movie, and my favorite part was the hot tub in our restroom which was perfect after a long day! We had a great time and would love to come back again! Thanks for your hospitality Sally! ☺️

This was our second time back to the pool house and it was amazing, again. We thinks of everything to make you feel welcome. Milk and eggs in the fridge. Muffins and croissants waiting for you. Pristine home. Fully stocked kitchen. I was even able to host a few family members for Christmas dinner and had everything I needed to make a lovely dinner. We also travel with two dogs and Sue is so accommodating, making our pups feel right at home. Thank you, Sue, for making our holidays away from home so peaceful and enjoyable.

We had an amazing time at Marybeth’s suite—it truly felt like a winter wonderland. Our kids had a blast "swimming" in the snow and "rolling" over the gentle hills. Every moment was filled with joy, whether we were relaxing in the sunroom, playing in the snow, or swinging outside. The time spent together as a family, along with our conversations with Marybeth and her family, was truly precious. We can’t wait to return in the summer!

I had a lovely stay at Sherrill and Clark's! I stayed for a month while working a job in the area, so I wasn't around much, but the space was a very cozy and homey place to come back to at the end of each day. Sherrill and Clark were very kind and welcoming. The bed was big and comfy! If you live in a city and need some time away New Paltz is adorable. Being from Chicago, it was a great change of pace.

Tina’s place is fabulous. The modern decor and architecture is beautiful. The location is peaceful and the fenced in yard was amazing; our dog loved roaming around and exploring. The outdoor space is great for grilling and sitting around the fire pit. We especially loved the kitchen. It is fully appointed and the kitchen island is incredible for prep and serving. The washer dryer combo was an excellent touch and we were able to do a couple of quick washes so that everything was clean and ready to unpack at home. Saving the best for last; the soaker tub in the master bedroom is luxurious and relaxing. Thank you, Tina. We can’t wait to visit again soon.

This wonderful antique home is in a Beautiful spot in the heart of Litchfield CT, and a delight early spring when the fields of daffodils awake! This unique 1793 house has a great view & sunset, fireplace, simple spa/gym making it a gem even when the pool is closed. Nearby the town with lots to offer and local farms for food shopping too. What’s not to love 💛 Bonus is a great host offering a home that is in touch with the realities of rentals, pets and people -not picky, precious or punitive. Happy to recommend and return!
