OLYMPIA

PaulRating, 5 stars7 months ago
From a long retired couple... Very enjoyable week's stay during September in Ruth's spacious, clean, comfortable and comprehensively equipped, family oriented villa. Ideal base for local hiking (which we didn't) and surprisingly well located, given its fairly remote position, for sampling good quality nearby restaurants (which we did). Good scope for cultural and shopping trips: eg. Bologna, Faenza, Dozza (delightful) and outlet centres incl. Barberino (convenient and extensive). We found Ruth to be a very welcoming, helpful and accessible host with a ready wealth of local knowledge - a much underrated asset that certainly enhanced our visit. 6Stanco - go for it!

Easily located and was very convenient for near the train station. Exactly what we needed to be able to explore more of the country

Bologna Porta Lame it037006c222cgj3tt

Almost everything was great, especially the kitchen and bathroom. Since Italy has stringent recycling and garbage disposal rules, it was unfortunate that the apartment did not have presort bins. Worse yet, the previous tenant lost the key card needed to dispose of miscellaneous waste (i.e. stuff that isn't simple paper, plastic, glass, or organic - which is more than one would think) so we needed to be rather creative about that. It would have been better had we been told about it ahead of time. The other oddity was that the dining table had only one chair, making it an awkward arrangement for two people. The kitchen counter had two stools but we needed that space for makeshift recycling bins. The apartment faces the courtyard which avoids all street noise but not air conditioning unit noise should you want to leave the window open. It's a 15 minute walk to the train station but 25 minutes to the old city center. However, bus service is plentiful. All in all, we would stay here again.

The apartment is super well, it is what is shown in the pictures and is very comfortable and cozy. It is very well equipped and very close to the historic center of the city.

Riccardo was really kind both in managing the arrival and in responding promptly to the requests made. The only thing I feel like saying is that I do not recommend the apartment to people with problems climbing stairs because actually, as Riccardo writes, the lack of an elevator makes it less pleasant for older people or people with walking problems. Otherwise great and I think I'll be back.

There is no better place to stay than La Selvatica. It’s my 4th visit and I can’t stop coming back. It’s genuine, inviting, and just such a special place. If you want an authentic Italian experience this is the place.
A spacious dining area is highlighted by a unique patterned table surrounded by wooden chairs. A modern kitchen is visible in the background, equipped with stainless steel appliances, while a cozy rug adds a touch of warmth to the space.
