Vacation rentals in Bijagua de Upala

Spent an amazing 2 months at Chris's place. Exactly what we have hoped for. The grounds and property were absolutely stunning! A true little paradise, especially if you are bird lover! A wonderful location to walk and enjoy the beauty of the lake, or walk into town to experience one of the many amazing restaurants. After we spent a day exploring, it was so nice to come back and relax in the beautiful pool! The beds were very comfy and the linens were a nice treat. Last but not least, Chris' place made us feel so at home. Chris checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. And Alex( and of course , Cindy) the property manager/ grounds keeper, added to our amazing time, his friendly smile, his whistles as he works to maintain the beautiful gardens, his funny stories and his knowledge of his country that he is so passionate about, truly was the "icing on the cake" . We feel very lucky to have found Chris' place as we now feel like we have found another home! Dave & Lisa

We had an incredible stay at Tanyia and Rod's! There place was super clean and comfortable, located in a safe and beautiful neighborhood. The perfect place for an extended stay to relax and unwind, but centrally located offering day trips for various excursions should you wish. Tanyia and Rod went above and beyond to meet our needs and had great local recommendations. We hope to return someday soon!

This house is beautifully designed. The open windows on the second floor overlooking the valleys and mountains is amazing. The road getting to the house was a little rough but we had a 4x4 so wasn’t an issue. It’s very close to Don Juan Coffee plantation, which is a must to do. Monte Verde had lots of good restaurants and shopping. We didn’t get to see monkeys while we were there but the views were still worth it.

Lovely bungalow in a quiet location. The outdoor space is very private with lots of options for sitting and lounging around. Whilst we were there in February we sat every evening without being bitten by insects, we were surprised by the lack of flying bugs. The interior is well equipped with a good size bathroom and comfortable beds. The washing machine and tumble drier were great as these took a large load. We visited two restaurants extremely close and were pleased with both; Restaurante Delicias Tablada for local dishes and Luisao Steak House did a really good tenderloin.

Indian Cane House nearly ruined the rest of our vacation because it set the bar so high! Upon arrival, we were greeted and given the run down of the house. Everything was spotless! Amenities provided were a huge bonus. The area is so peaceful and private yet a short drive to town where we enjoyed several restaurants & coffee shops. We hired the recommended private chef for an evening and the dinner was incredible. As a bonus, we got to see two pairs of scarlet macaws in the trees next to the house. There was a little iguana, whom we called Cane, that made an appearance every time we used the pool. The group throughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!!

We had the best time and our host was very helpful with suggestions of things to do and even secured us a spot at an awesome hot spring! We loved the dogs too lol the little pug was so funny. You’ll have a great time here!

First night have trouble figuring out water temperature (this is on my side issue) Jesse responded quickly and Send Elmer right away, very impressed response time. The driving direction is very helpful. Also give me the best time window to catch the cap of volcano’s beautiful sight in the morning . We are very fortunate to stay in this location/ host literally match the name La Fortuna. Thanks you, will stay again.

An amazing place to stay!

AMAZING. Such a beautiful and peaceful place, the view is WAY better in real, the room are big and clean with hot water, really a piece of paradise!!! The only thing to know, there is a breakfast for a great price available. Otherwise you need to think to buy some food to eat. It is not far away from the little town where you have a few restaurants (maybe 1-2?), a little convenient store and a place to get meat but it is a bumpy road to come back to get it, so think ahead and buy it before you get there!
