We had at amazing stay with incredibly welcoming hosts. We were made to feel right at home. With a beautiful reef to expore right on our door step we couldn't ask for anything more. highly recommend for anyone looking for an authentic island experience<3

jade homestay is located on a clif with the view over the house jetty. there are plenty of huge turtels visible already from the jetty. the coral garden is in my top 3 what i ever saw... and i travelled a lot ! the rooms are clean and on demand she cooks an extraordinary diner.. realy excellent taste! this place is a great option to stay for an affordable price on the island. take room 1 or 2 if you want to catch the wifi of the reception! internet is shaky on the island ( august2024). better buy a telekomsim sim card and register it before you leave berau! her husband speaks a good french and offers excursions to the neighbour islands with his boat

Our stay at Jade Homestay was perfect. From the start, Lia and Li made us feel at home, and we were truly sad to leave. Maratua is magnificent, but Jade Homestay is the best place to stay. Li organizes boat trips, and it’s clear how much he enjoys seeing his guests have a great time. We did two excursions with him, and they were some of the best experiences of our lives. What makes Jade Homestay special is Lia and Li's kindness and hospitality. The location is unbeatable: we snorkeled around the island, but the best spot was right in front of their house with the greatest diversity of corals and turtles. Waking up and seeing this from the pier, just in front of our room, was unforgettable. Another highlight is the food Lia prepares. It's the best we've had in Indonesia, made with love and care. Jade Homestay is simply INCREDIBLE. Makasi (Thanks) for everything, Lia and Li!

We can highly recommend Jade Homestay in Maratua. You can snorkel directly from the jetty very close to the rooms. There are two riffs with great corals and a lot of fishes (we saw a lot of turtles, lion fishes, the typical coral fishes...) Lia and her husband are very helpful. They can give you a lot of tips what to see on the island and helped us in booking a flight back to Tanjung Redep. You can rent a scooter directly at the homestay. The breakfast is good and you can also eat for lunch or dinner. Lia is an exceptional cook. We felt like a big family and extended our stay. Thanks a lot Lia and Ly. We hope to come back again. There are no words for how beautiful Maratua is! Jun and Ana were amazing hosts -- we spent our very short 3-day stay snorkeling (the marine life right outside the guesthouse is incredible!) and on Kakaban Island. Jun and Ana lent us all the snorkeling gear and Amelia helped facilitate our stay before and after. Be aware that there isn't wifi or an ATM on the island, so come prepared! All in all, a magical stay, and I can't wait to return!
