Family-friendly vacation rentals in Barton

Antique home with fenced in yard, updated bathrooms and appliances, and indoor hot tub was perfect for my family of 5 plus dog. We appreciated being a little outside of the hustle and bustle of Stowe on a busy tourist weekend, but still accessible and allowed us to explore many of the trails, breweries, restaurants, and farm stands outside of town, which was great and a more authentic Vermont experience. We were hosting a wedding at Bliss Ridge and Doug’s home was spacious and nearby. The view and home are amazing. Doug assisted us with details around furniture and catering and Alex was an attentive caretaker. The kitchen had EVERYTHING and there was plenty of seating, comfy places to sit and a terrific game room.

We were in town with another couple for a family wedding. The Barn at Smuggler's Notch is right down the road, so the location was perfect. We had great food at the Burger Barn and the Village Tavern. The house itself is comfortable, with a wonderful screened porch. You can hear the stream behind the house, and it was so peaceful. Our hosts gifted us delicious pancake mix and Vermont maple syrup, which was kind. Wish we would have had more time to explore. Would love to come back in the winter. Highly recommend!

Evangeline was a wonderful host! Absolutely beautiful and homey cabin, it felt like we were visiting a friend’s home. The views and property were absolutely stunning and the hot tub, grill and fire pit were so enjoyable after a day of exploring St J. We had an amazing stay at this beautiful Stowe home in December. The standouts were the unparalleled kitchen with its appliances and tools available, the beautiful yard with its snowy tree/mountain views, the number of games and books, and the clean bedrooms. The drive into Stowe is really short and so nice to be a little distance away and have your own space. The kids (and even adults) so enjoyed the fresh snow, made a snowman, etc in the beautiful yard. We love to cook together on vacations, so having the well stocked clean kitchen / dining area and fireplace was so so cozy. The number of games and books available was also amazing! We took advantage of that as well. They also provide plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and laundry detergent so these little touches really made the stay even more relaxing. No worry about running out or washing towels during our slightly longer stay. We will definitely be back next time we are in Stowe.

We had the most magnificent view of Willoughby Notch. Carl needs to showcase that more. The place was very comfortable, and Carl was easily reachable if we had any questions.

Mathieu’s place was incredibly cozy and quaint with absolutely beautiful surroundings. We all felt extremely comfortable and at home the entire stay. Mathieu was also very responsive and helpful with any questions that had. We were sad to leave and only wished we had booked a longer stay. Great deal and well worth it!

Adorable, clean apartment in the heart of Hardwick. The place was perfect for my 3 day visit to see Circus Smirkus perform in Greensboro. The only glitch was the wrong keys were left for me in the lock box, I couldn't get in and it took me awhile to get a hold of Claudia. It made my late night check in very stressful. However, it was just an inconvenient mistake and when Claudia found out she came right over to let me in and was very kind & apologetic about it. Hopefully this won't happen again for future visitors. I would definitely stay again- the apartment is quite charming and above a great pizza place and fantastic cafe. And Claudia was very nice to work with.

We had a magical weekend and the peaceful beautiful quiet setting of the Cottage was just what we needed. Our dogs had fun romping with Gill and Izzy. Enjoyed walks and comfortable beds. We enjoyed the surrounding area, particularly Dog Mountain and various food options, recommended by our fantastic hosts in Saint J. Will definitely be back, perhaps to see the colors in the Fall.

Dream Haven is perfect for a quaint, cozy fall getaway! We thoroughly enjoyed our couple nights here and really appreciated Gerette and Frederic’s local recommendations. Would certainly suggest a stay here and we hope to return.

This was the perfect getaway for my husband and I. Quaint farmhouse in the middle of the mountains, gorgeous fall foliage, nice surrounding town. We visited the Vermont Apple Orchards about 25 minutes away and that was fun! We also walked up along the road/trail and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful scenery. One take-away from the experience is the significant amount of lady bugs/insects we encountered not only directly outside of the house, but inside the house. They were everywhere: particularly, along the walls, on the ceiling, in the shower, flying over our heads as we sat on the couch or bed. Was a bummer that we had to take 30 minutes out of each day to sweep away the insects/lady bugs in order to enjoy our peace and quiet. We asked the host about this and his property manager answered that it is what it is in this case, though I recommend perhaps working on the infrastructure of the home to better mitigate this issue.

Perfect little cabin in the woods! It got everything that we needed. We can’t wait for next year booking to open , we will be back for sure!

Despite the difficulty faced to open the door as it was busted and needed fixing, this was a lovely home. After calling the owner to show us how to open and lock the door, we got the hang of it. The place was very clean, spacious and couzy. It was indeed a lovely home, nicely situation in the town area; so walkable to shops and restaurants. I would stay here again for sure.

Great place to get away. Very peaceful and loved that it was dog friendly. There are great trails within walking distance, the dogs loved it.

Place was awesome with lots of activities to do and enjoy with family and friends he was responsive in communication and was a great host with property being managed well. The kids zipline activity need to be safe by putting some safety cushion as add on and the boating was great so fun with animals and the boat setup is superb for pictures. So much place to do activities and fun. Would love to revisit the place again.

This place is great! The pictures do not do a justice. This apartment is very open, lots of space! And the views of the mountains are incredible! Chad was very responsive and a great host! Would stay again!

Very beautiful environment, and the AirBnB was much more than what my wife and I expected! Would definitely recommend to anyone considering booking! And will definitely book again the next time we plan a Vermont trip

Stayed here for a youth hockey tournament. Couldn’t have had a better experience. The host was extremely responsive and flexible when I needed a later check out. I’ll be booking again next fall.

We stayed two weeks at the theatre in the woods. Cozy space, comfy beds. Appreciated the ceiling fans in each room and the strong AC in the living room. Great location about mid-way between main street at spruce peak. Lots of good restaurants, activities and watering holes nearby. Leslie was communicative and helpful. A very pleasant stay and would recommend.

Great place just outside of Stowe city centre, plenty of space inside and out. Kristin was a great host.

Our family just stayed in Dana’s condo and we had a wonderful experience! The fireplace was a wonderful way to keep warm in the evenings and the balcony had stunning views of the area. The condo is located in a short distance from so many wonderful places to visit and eat. Dana was an excellent host and very responsive. It was a perfect getaway! We would highly recommended her place.

This was exactly what I needed for a trip away.
