Vacation rentals in Appomattox County

This was a trip I got for my parents (in their 50s) and they had a wonderful time despite the weather being less than ideal (super rainy). When they got home they were happy and excited to share the adventure. Even went as far as to say they saw a glimpse of what their retirement could look like. So, I highly recommend as a gift to someone who enjoys the peace and serenity of the outdoors with someone they love (or go with you and your loved one if you enjoy that stuff as well)

I don’t think I can describe just how wonderful a trip this was but I will try. David was fantastic. To start the place was absolutely spotless and had a super clean kitchen and bathroom. The linens were very clean and there were plenty of towels for the hot tub and shower. The kitchen had a great oven that was a convection oven. There was also a cast-iron skillet, which is so essential. I hate cooking on nonstick because you never know what kind of toxic stuff you’re putting into your food so having a grill, cast-iron skillet, and breakfast skillet was amazing. While we were there, there was a flash flood. While there was no flood to be seen in the house because it’s on a hill, the roadway was temporarily impossible to traverse. David brought us fresh chicken from his farm and it was fantastic. He made sure that we were safe when we did leave once the water had subsided. The hot tub was very clean. It looked brand new. The Internet was very fast and we had no problem watching TV.

Awesome experience for our entire family. We stayed 5 nights with our 3 kids, all under 8, and everyone had an amazing time. We went to Appomattox for supplies on our first day, and we didn’t leave after that. The farm had plenty to do for the kids, and nobody watched a screen the entire trip - there was no need or desire to do so, as the farm had plenty to keep us busy and entertained. It is a working farm where some of the animals roam and graze, so if that’s not appealing to you, perhaps it’s not for you. We fed the animals, went fishing, hiked, rode horses, etc. Rinse and repeat. We would have stayed longer if we could have. Finally, the farm staff was fantastic. Can’t say enough about their hospitality and willingness to make our stay a good one.

Nancy and Don were AMAZING hosts! Their space was exactly as described and pictured! The whole place was AMAZING! HUGE space! I LOVED having a glass of wine and phenomenal conversation with the hosts! They are amazing people! They don't intrude on your privacy but are so hospitable you just WANT to hang out with them! If you're looking for TRUE companionship in Appomattox, and not the "local" cliques...... seek out Don and Nancy!

Amy’s place was such a beautiful home for a weekend getaway! She and her husband were incredibly kind, the breakfast was delicious, and I hope to visit them again! There were lots of cute dogs and horses to pet, and lovely spots to walk around.

Rachel and Kish were so warm and welcoming. Their farm is peaceful and quiet, lovely views in all directions. We were very comfortable in our large and private accommodations. Their place was a memorable highlight of our vacation.

This airbnb is in a beautiful location, the views are spectacular! We were in visiting my daughter at a local college and all of the hotels were booked or were an outrageous price, I’m so thankful we found this place! Very clean and quiet. No wifi but thankfully I had cell service. We didn’t spend a lot of time there but the time we did spend there, it was relaxing! Only thing is it got toasty in the room at night and there was no way for me to control the temperature or cool off.

My partner and I booked "The White House" for a quick weekend getaway that did not disappoint. The property this house is located on is beautiful to say the least! We did a short tour of the farm, stopping to see all of the animals along the way before we set out to explore Appomattox and Lynchburg. It it wasn't clear from the listing, it was for us, both of these towns are a hike from the property (about 30 minutes). That was perfectly fine for us, as we knew that going in and wanted the seclusion for the weekend. We were also lucky enough to be able to spend some time with the horses! We got to care for them a bit, and even ride them around the pen, which was an experience in and of itself. We would definitely book one of Dan's properties again in the future!
