Such a wonderful place and wonderful hosts! It’s remote, too far normally to walk to town, but our hosts did a great job of supplying us with breakfast food and wine, so we were never without the important things. Enjoyed a peaceful stay in Esphinhosa. The house is very inviting with plenty of room. Views are amazing with the vineyards across the lane. Virtually no traffic since it is the 2nd last place on the road. A leisurely 5-minute stroll to the little hamlet of Esphinhosa. There's a very small coffee bar & grocery store in town. It has the very basics to get you through. If you plan to make your own meals in the well-equipped kitchen, remember to purchase your groceries on the way. For large luggage, you will want to access the 2nd floor from the back door up the hill rather than using the spiral stairs. Also, Google Maps took us straight through Espinhosa. To squeeze through the houses where R.Direita meets R.dos Valados, we had to fold up the mirrors on our Dacia Duster with likely only 1/2" to spare on either side. Make sure to use Rua Cimo do Povo and follow the signs for Valado Houses. Good local food at Restaurante Pesqueirense in São João da Pesqueir.

Nestled in wine territory, with a 5 minute drive up winding roads to the top of the hillside in Folgosa, the home gave spectacular views of the Douro Valley! Mimi recommended restauants, wineries and other areas of interest which we found extremely helpful. All the recommendations were exactly as she described and all were fabulous. We enjoyed the fact that home's location was within 20 -30 minute of Lamego, Peso da Regua & Pinhao which allowed us day trips. Then back to the lanai for sitting by the pool, watching sunsets and drinking wine!

what a sublime place. it was perfect. the location is outstanding, the people are great. the views are incredible. our time here was the icing on the cake for our portugal trip. we would hope to come back.

We stayed a few days for 4 adults, the accommodation is very nice with its 2 suites, the 2 bedrooms have 2 separate entrances with an airlock where each shower room is located and a large closet. Very quiet accommodation, the only noises heard are a few cars (normal, accommodation located in the heart of a village) and the nice sound of the church (the accommodation is right next door, the church emits a small music before ringing the hours from 6:00 am to 9:00 p.m. or 10:00 p.m.). We would recommend this listing without worry with a very friendly owner.

A beautiful Quinta—one of the best vineyard stays I’ve experienced! Ana warmly welcomed us upon arrival, gave us a tour of the property, and provided clear, helpful instructions. She speaks fluent English, which made everything smooth and easy. The wine tasting at the Quinta was a highlight—highly recommended. We only stayed one night, but if we’d had more time, I would’ve loved to explore the grounds further. The location is incredibly peaceful and serene—perfect for a relaxing getaway.

The hosts were very kind and attentive all the time. The location is beautiful, and the house is very good and clean. Overall, a very nice stay. Would like to repeat in the future.

Excellent hosting. The apartment is very comfortable with all the necessary equipment. Excellent location, just a few minutes walk from the historic center, markets and good restaurants (highlight the Bella Ciao pizzeria). Easy to park in front of the apartment or very close by, on the main street. The reception was excellent, Cati was very welcoming and friendly, she showed us the whole place and gave us tips about the city, in addition to leaving bread, butter, milk, juice and several other products available for our stay. Thank you!!! It will certainly be our choice if we return to Ciudad Rodrigo.
