Vacation rentals in Akranes

My stay at the cabin was straight from a fairytale book. I was a solo traveller & absolutely loved the space. I can imagine it being filled with a family but if you’re alone, you should also visit! It’s the perfect escape. I stayed in December when there was only a few hours daylight, so I found my way there in the dark. The instructions were very clear and it was easy to find. When I woke the next day and saw it in the light it was beautiful. Everything was easy to use, from the hot tub to the kitchen having everything you could need. Although I drove, I changed my plans when I saw how much was close by and hiked to Helgafell (so easy to get to). You could definitely base yourself there and not travel far, as there’s a handy guide to what’s close by too! I also travelled south & to the golden circle which was all easy from this base. Signy’s home was absolutely stunning, and my entire family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Signy was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout, making the experience seamless. The location was perfect for our itinerary, and the house was equipped with everything we could possibly need and more. We couldn’t recommend this place highly enough!

Sigyn was a fantastic host and the place truly lives up to the expectation. One of the cleanest places I’ve ever stayed, had every possible item you would need for your stay. Very close to local town of Selfoss as well which had fantastic restaurants . Was also a great house for kids, plenty of room for everyone to spread out and enjoy!

The house was clean and tidy. The description and pictures were very accurate and the views from the back porch were amazing. Alfa and Finnur were very easy to communicate with and left very clear notes and expectations. We would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed the stay very much. It was my second time in this area and it was just fine as the first one. The house is very well equipped with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. Great location to explore the south of Iceland. Perfect hot tub which was always ready to enjoy. Great communication, proactive, quick and nice. Recommend to stay there.

Beautiful and peaceful home, it is a fabulous place to unwind after a day of exploring. A spacious home, yet cozy for groups. We were able to catch the northern lights one clear night since the hours is located in a more rural location. Would definitely return to stay again.

The views out of every window were very beautiful. We were able to see the Northern lights (although faint only that night). It was very cozy and super clean

We enjoyed a delightful seven-night stay in this enchanting wooden house, perfectly situated in a tranquil and scenic area embraced by nature's beauty. Just a 25-minute drive from Selfoss, it proved to be an ideal starting point for discovering the marvels of the Golden Circle. The house itself is beautifully furnished, well-equipped, and exceptionally comfortable. Visiting in December, we were captivated by the winter landscape, and despite the frigid temperatures outside, we felt wonderfully warm and cozy inside. Johanna was exceptionally attentive and always quick to respond whenever we had questions or needed assistance. Should I return to Iceland, this house will undoubtedly be my first choice.
