Restaurants / pubs/ take aways and mini mart and shops app. 800 meters. Also walking distance /5 min. drive to New Mission Beach Pool which provides plenty of entertainment for the family.

The slow monday | Modern Beach Shack

Located in a sleepy little beach town that time forgot. Where ancient palms shade your path and prehistoric creatures still roam the land. The slow monday sits on the edge of protected forest (a cassowary corridor) just a stroll from the beach. A modern take on the classic Australian beach shack, the house is designed for the Queensland tropics. There are two pavilions, one for living and the other for sleeping, all with large glass sliding doors that open up to let the environment in.

The house is located 30 metres from the beach and stinger net swimming enclosure. Great location for fishing with the boat ramp only 1km away giving access to the Hinchinbrook Islands and the reef. There are two parks close by for the kids to play at and both have electric BBQs. Pricing is for 2 guests per night, additional guests are charged per person/per night.

We do have 2 other cabins on the property to accommodate larger families or groups. 7mins from Paronella Park. Due to Covid 19 we are no longer providing breakfast.

Daily rate is for a couple using the king bedroom. If you want to use an extra bedroom, it is $30 per person per night. Book at the extra person rate. The accommodation is the bottom part of a large Queenslander house with access to the pool and extensive gardens. With its own access and carport you are completely self sufficient but we are available to lend you bicycles or point you to the walking tracks. Be active or do nothing, we are private but not remote.
