Beach house vacation rentals in Connecticut

The Ashford Lake cottage was absolutely perfect for our sister birthday weekend! The hot tub, fire pit, screened in porch, and dock all were perfect for catching up, relaxing, and enjoying each other's company. The house was fully stocked with everything we could possibly need and everything was extremely clean. Jason was extremely attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. I can't recommend this cottage enough and hope to visit again in the future!

This house is a gem! I came to stay a week in off season with my dog, Rollo. The location is breathtaking, right on the Long Island Sound. We had a great time exploring the beach, looking for all the biodiversity in the birds and sea creatures, watching the boats, and this place is relatively close to an airport so watching the planes land and take off was awsome as well. We came for privacy, and I expected the beach to be a little more private than it was due to my dog's reactivity. But the neighbors did not seem to have issues with us, and once you are close to the water, especially in low tide, the beach is pretty open for all the locals. Walking around, the locals all waved and said hello. Not too many restaurants close by, but the Lobster Shack down the road had good food! Would stay again! The deck alone was worth it!

Chloe's home was perfect for our stay as we wanted to be near my son in Old Saybrook. She was responsive and accommodating with my questions and needs always getting back to me right away. Check in was easy and I received emails all along the way which was helpful as I am a first time airbnb person. The home was immaculate with everything as it said it would be. I would definitely stay again and recommend this home.

This was our second stay. The house is cute and comfortable. Nice outdoor space with a sandy beach area and shallow lake entry. Jena is great to work with.

Great space, accurate description

My family and I had such a wonderful stay at this house. The house was immaculate and well stocked for our stay. Matthew and Celia are great hosts. We really appreciated the basket of snacks and dog cookies that were left for us and our fur babies (Thank you!). They truly thought of everything and it felt like “home” the entire time we were there. The views from the back deck are truly spectacular. We spent many hours sitting in the sunroom and out on the deck enjoying the sights. My pups enjoyed daily walks at the sea wall park that was steps from the house. I can’t say enough great things about our stay. Thanks to our hosts for sharing their beautiful home with me and my family.

The house was very clean, with a beautiful, large, well stocked kitchen. The view was lovely and it was wonderful hanging out on the deck. The beds were very comfortable. The house would be a little more practical if one of the bedrooms had two beds, so more people could sleep in the actual bedrooms. The pull out beds were not as comfortable and the bed in the loft is only accessible with a ladder. However, for a small group or people who aren’t picky about their sleeping arrangements it is a fantastic place to stay. You can’t beat the view and proximity to the water!

We have just returned from five nights in this beautiful house. The house was just as described, it was clean, bright and airy. The amenities were all excellent, including a very well equipped kitchen. Fabulous location very quiet and peaceful with the beach being just a couple of minutes away. I would love to return and would definitely recommend. The host was very responsive and accommodating. Thank you.

Beautiful and spacious home. If you want to relax , this is the house to do it. Beautiful views. The house has was much larger than I expected which explained why the cleaning fee was higher than usual. Host was very nice and accommodating. The house was well supplied with amenities.

We had a group of 8 adults and 7 kids (5 and under) and the space was great for a large group! There was plenty of room for the kids to run around downstairs and the large yard was fantastic. We were there in the winter so couldn’t take advantage of the pool but we did make a trip to the local beach (5 min drive) and use the fire pit. I definitely recommend Gregory’s place for both larger groups and families! We would love to return!

Patrick and Tracy were wonderful to rent from and the house was great. We had 5 adults and everyone slept comfortably. The patio was a great experience with the pool, hot tub and great outdoor seating. We loved the area and would return in a heartbeat if the dates are open for next year’s trip.

Allana was very easy to work with. Always answered back quickly no matter the time. Open concept and everyone was able to be together. It was a rainy stay so had to be inside. No one minded. Nicely set up for games or conversations. Thank you so much!!

Thank you again for allowing us to stay at your place for two nights — it was an excellent stay! The location was perfect — we were just a short distance from downtown New Haven and within a long walking distance to Bones & Oyster (we ubered), which ended up being such a great spot that we went twice. The space was comfortable and well-kept, and we really appreciated how nice the area was. One small suggestion for future guests: it might be helpful to mention that firewood and propane aren’t provided — we would recommend picking some up beforehand if planning to use the firepit or grill. We stayed here for a long term collegiate rental. It was everything we could've asked for. Great proximity to the beach and plenty of space to have people over. The hosts were very responsive and accommodating. It was an absolute pleasure to call this property home for our senior year!

This house was perfect for our long weekend getaway. Everything was as described and absolutely spotless - including the pool. I would highly recommend Julia’s house for both short and long stays as there is plenty to do and see in the area and the house is close to everything yet tucked away for peace and quiet and beautiful views.

We had a great stay at this cottage- it was a perfect size for our family and was extremely clean, warm and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the quick walk to the beach, and proximity to town. Hosts were very friendly and responsive but never intrusive. Would highly recommend.

Everything was great and as expected with this home. It was very clean, the views were stunning, right on the water. Unfortunately it rained, but we took advantage of the screened in porch with coffee. Jesse was quick to respond with any questions and had thorough and clear information about checking and getting into the home. We’d definitely look to stay here again, if we’re in the Mystic area.

We enjoyed a great long weekend during my son’s graduation. The house is an easy drive from New Haven (15 min tops, maybe less) but feels far away. The location on the sound is lovely - nice views, easy swimming, sea breeze. And we had plenty of room for grandparents and siblings - really an ideal spot for a multigenerational grad weekend. Other comments have mentioned the flight path to Tweed airport. It’s definitely noticeable when planes take off or land, but it’s a small airport so we only had a handful of departures / landings each day - for us at least it was not a big deal at all.

I loved how organized Kathy was with her communication and sharing of information. I didn’t have to search for a thing. Everything went as expected (which rarely happens in the real world)! We were very pleased with our visit and the space she provided for us. It was clean, comfortable and the location was fantastic!

The beach house was a great place to be with our family. My boys loved going across the street to the beach. It was walkable to so many places, and short drive. Cozy space and awesome porch deck. Highly recommend staying here.

Lauren was probably the best host we have had on Airbnb. So responsive and helpful and the place was amazing. Guilford is a special place and we will definitely be back and stay here. Awesome property!
