Three of Sydney's best beaches 5 mins away and great restaurants (fine dining or casual). Bush walking, swimming, sailing, surfing & golf. NO PARTIES/FUNCTIONS & only REGISTERED GUESTS in our home. Balquisse, sits on a cliff between Avalon and Bilgola Beaches and is close to Sydney's best beaches (Newport, Bilgola,Avalon, Whale and Palm Beach). It is also within easy reach of shops, cafes, fishing, sailing, surfing & bushwalking. You’ll love the stunning 180 degree views out to the ocean, across to the still waters of Pittwater and a vista that stretches hundreds of kilometres up the north coast. It also has a plunge pool, chef's kitchen and is blissfully quiet. Our home, which is blessed with sun and light all year, is furnished eclectically with much loved items collected over the years, together with cherished items from our travels. There are a number of seating areas (lounge, family room, indoor courtyard, decks, garden and by the plunge pool) for peace and privacy. The chef's kitchen is equipped with everything the discerning chef might need, including European appliances. You will also have the use of our linen tableware, beautiful crystal, dinner and silverware. We have filtered water on tap, instantaneous boiling water, a Nespresso coffee machine, gas fireplace and gas heating for those chilly winter months. We also have air conditioning in the living areas and the main bedroom. We also supply free fast, unlimited Internet, while on our 'smart' TV you will have access to Netflix. There is also a Bluetooth sound system and hundreds of books at your disposal. Set above the natural bush of Angophora Reserve you can watch the native birdlife in the mornings and afternoons: cockatoos, rainbow lorikeets, king parrots, hawks and many other birds will glide past or sail high above. In the afternoons you will be visited by our local cockatoo friends. You might also meet our shy baby bush turkey. The cliff we live on is whisper quiet - this is one of its many beauties - and we would ask that you respect the quiet by not having parties or playing loud music that would disturb our neighbours. Please understand that the house does not suit small children who would not be safe with an open staircase, garden pond and open balcony over a cliff. You will have access to three bedrooms, lounge, dining, kitchen, family room, study, three bathrooms, laundry, internal courtyard, garden and plunge pool. We supply fluffy white towels, an excellent choice of hotel quality pillows, crisp white sheets, comfortable beds, environmentally friendly shampoo and body wash without Parabens and SLS and laundry and cleaning products. You will have the use of our general kitchen products - various coffees, about 40 different types of tea and the usual salt, pepper, olive oil, vinegars, cooking oils, flours, sugars, sauces etc. We ask that you do not have people staying in excess of the number you booked. If you are thinking of having more people to stay please contact us immediately. We will greet you and introduce you to the house. You will also be able to contact us by email and phone if you have any questions. We also have a local contact person who can help with any issues that may arise if we are away. The area is leafy, quiet, and safe with a bush walking track directly below the escarpment the house sits on. Cafe's and local shops are within walking distance, while Avalon and Newport villages and beaches are a few minutes away. You'll love the feeling of being far from the hustle and bustle of city life while only minutes away from the finer things in life: beaches, sailing, bush walking and some of the best cafes and restaurants in Sydney. We can give you tips for casual or fine dining. We are close to the bus route to the city and to Manly, although we strongly recommend a car. You can walk down to Avalon Beach, Bilgola Beach (voted the most romantic beach in Australia) and Newport Beach and swim in the surf, or in one of our iconic ocean pools. The villages, with their shops, cafes, cinema and restaurants, are also within easy walking distance, however, you have to walk uphill to get home. It's a beautiful walk, but only you can decide how much exercise you want. We welcome you to our home and hope that it gives you the peace it has always offered us. The three most important issues for us are: 1. you look after our home as you would want yours looked after 2. respect the quiet of the ridge and do not disturb our neighbours 3. If you are staying five days or more we ask that you water the plants in the house and the courtyard. It is important to us that you are willing to this. It is not a difficult task, but they are plants and they do need water to survive. Of course, the garden looks after itself. Hope you understand.

We are new to hosting and we aim to please. Whether you have a car or not we have the ideal location. The 15 min express bus to Sydney CBD is just around the corner, 10 mins to Chatswood Shopping Centre, 20 minutes to Manly and the beautiful Northern Beaches of Sydney. There is plenty of unrestricted parking available in our quiet leafy street, You can walk to Echo Point Park with it's sandy beach, marina and cafe and picturesque Harbourside bush walks. We are within walking distance of 2 Golf Courses, Tennis Courts and Platinum Fitness First Gym with an indoor pool. You will have your own private sunny outdoor courtyard with table & chairs. The brand new Caesarstone kitchenette has a convection microwave, induction cooktop, fridge, kettle, toaster, cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery & glassware. Bookings of 7 nights or longer will have access to a Thermomix to whip up beautiful meals at the click of a button or 2. Free wifi is provided and air-conditioning. The eat in living area has a flat screen TV, and a bookshelf full of books and boardgames. There is a dining table and a separate desk for a work space. Modern bathroom with vanity, toilet and shower, toiletries are provided. The bedroom has a very comfy Queen sized bed with posturepedic mattress, built in wardrobe with chest of drawers, plenty of hanging space and a safe. There is a laundromat within walking distance, but we can do a load of washing for you for a small fee. Our space is suitable for travellers, country visitors and business people alike. We really want this to be your home away from home! This is a self contained private apartment with your own front door and entry via keypad code. We provide a welcome pack with transport details and local attractions and we are happy to give advice and point you in the right direction, according to how much time you have and what you want to see and do. Your apartment is located right next door to us, so if there is anything you need we are here for you, but we totally respect your privacy. This is a quiet, friendly suburb with easy access to public transport, cafes, and restaurants. The property is just 15 minutes from the CBD by express bus and minutes on foot from beautiful bush walks for some time away from the urban buzz. We are around the corner from the bus stop. There is plenty of unrestricted street parking. We are just 11 km from Sydney's CBD, 13 km to the Northern beaches of Sydney and 3.6km to Chatswood. Get lost in a book within a peaceful, window-wrapped sunroom featuring a children’s play area. Beautifully styled and well-appointed, this single storey beach home offers casual comfort and spacious living areas, perfect for family groups seeking a relaxed beachside holiday. A beautifully manicured and fully enclosed rear garden is ideal for children. The garden studio is complete with an ensuite, a perfect 4th bedroom if 8 guests are staying or extra living area if preferred. You will have the entire property including the studio for yourselves. There is a separate side entrance for the studio. The back of the house opens entirely through bifold doors giving flow through to the deck and rear yard. You will be greeted on arrival at the property. As hosts we will be available via phone or email throughout your stay. The home is in Newport Beach, a town known for its surfing breaks and beautiful scenery. Newport Village’s boutiques, markets, and restaurants are a stroll away, as is the beach. Palm Beach, or Summer Bay as it's known on "Home and Away", is 15 minutes further north by car. If night life or a faster pace is more your style then Manly is less than half an hour by car, travelling South. From here the Manly ferry can take you across Sydney Harbour to the CBD for a day of sightseeing. The L90 bus is a 5 minute walk away on Barrenjoey Road and makes regular trips to and from the city. The spacious formal dining and living areas have recently been extensively renovated and flow effortlessly to a timber deck and alfresco dining and BBQ area. The stunning open plan kitchen is brand new and boasts Miele and Smeg appliances, stone benches and a large breakfast bar, perfect for informal dining. The plasma in the main living area is equipped with Foxtel and a DVD player. A 2nd living area (with DVD player only) at the other end of the home gives everyone their own space to relax and unwind.

The house has a great indoor/outdoor feel to it and you can't help but feel yourself unwind within moments of arriving. There are three bedrooms comprising of two master queen bedrooms and a bunk room with two sets of bunks. Perfect for four adults and four children. There are also two bathrooms, an open plan kitchen lounge area that leads onto a deck and a comfortable outdoor covered seating area. In the garden there is a BBQ and wood fire pizza oven. There are kayaks, a paddle board and windsurfer for you to use not forgetting a couple of bikes to get around on. Beautiful beach, safe calm water for the children to swim in, great walks, a multitude of native birds, wallabies, monitor lizards and more. Guests are left to their own devices from the moment they arrive but plenty of help is at hand should need be. Set in the picturesque suburb of Great Mackeral Beach, the home is surrounded by Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park and 20 miles north of Sydney. Once you arrive at Palm Beach, just hop on the ferry or a water taxi and Mackerel is only a 10-30 minute boat ride away. Hiking trails, the beach, and lots of wildlife surround you. It is an easy drive from Sydney to Palm Beach and only an hour from the CBD. Alternatively buses (L90) go from the city to Palm Beach and take 90 minutes. There are no cars at Mackerel and the only access is by water. There are no shops at Mackerel so you need to bring everything you need for your stay. There is a good stock of the basics in the kitchen that is there for your convenience.
