Michael was an amazing. It felt like long lost friends who just met up again. We had conversations as if we knew each other. He is a kind, respectful, hard working family man with amazing knowledge of the history or Japan. His passion really shows through every time he talks about the areas he walks us through (even some of the spots that are less known but amazing). He can also answer any of our questions about anything Japan/Japanese. He taught us the way through a tori gate, and how to follow the ritual process for any of the good luck spaces we passed through. We even got to spot a real geisha around the district! He speaks Japanese as well as English, French, etc. he taught is a few phrases. He provided us with great food recommendations and so much more. I felt like our experience was so unique with him and I feel so great. Kokoro kara kansha shimasu. Arigatou gozaimasu!!! This is not just your typical touristy tour. I highly recommend Michael’s tour 💕

It was our first time in Japan, and our first tour in Kyoto was with Michael. Michael is a hostory buff and really finds the time to explain the rich history of the Geisha, Shinto Shrines and Buddhist temples along the way. He’s extremely friendly, easy to approach and ask questions and get insights which left me in awe. The tour is easy going, the path was easy to walk with a few uphill and downhill moments. Michael was very kind to us as he adjusted the pace of the tour as we were a group of 4, two of which were with elderly age 75 and up. This was much appreciated and I would highly recommend Michael and this tour if you want to learn about Kyoto, the Gion district and the rich history behind it. Would definitely recommend it and would do it again next time with friends and family. Keep it up Michael! Merci Beaucoup 💪🏻👏🏼

Such a wonderful tour of Gion with an incredibly knowledgeable guide! Michael was fantastic and I highly recommend you take this tour to orient you to the area. The route was easy enough for older folks to do and showed off the highlights + Michael was able to color all of the sights with his vast amount of knowledge. I'd happily take another tour with Michael again!
