This was so much more than a tour. It was one of those experiences I’m so grateful I got to share with my kids.
We woke up at 5am and it was worth every minute. No other tourists, just us and the local community slowly waking up.
We started at the market, where the kids helped choose food and prepare offerings for the monks. They learned about giving alms and how the temple is not only a place of worship, but an important part of the community.
We then travelled along the canals by boat and offered the food we had bought directly to monks on the water.
I loved that my kids weren’t simply watching another culture. They were respectfully taking part, giving, listening and learning why these traditions matter.
No crowds, nothing staged. Just a beautiful, quiet morning experiencing a side of Bangkok we wouldn’t normally see.
Absolutely worth the 5am alarm. ❤️
